Don't use violence as a first resort to solve a problem. It could get you killed, the other person could have a gun. Unfortunately for Trayvon Martin, it's too late for him, but others should take heed.
 
I think the most important lesson to come out of the Zimmerman/Martin trial is that most people are idiots. And yes that goes for both sides of this argument.
 
The lesson? It's one all young men should learn - if you think you're being followed, use the head on your shoulders, not the one in your pants.
