The Lincoln Project is outside of "the traditional Democrat/Republican scenario", as the OP noted. It is Republican in the original spirit of the Party, when Lincoln was its first Presidential candidate and it stood for the progressive values of its era, unlike the regressive GOP of today.

I've seen impactful ads, and seen impactful groups pop up through the years, but I see the Lincoln Project having a massive impact on the election - and not the impact the Republicans hope for.

This is one impressive group. I'm personal friends with one of the founders, Jennifer Horn, who one of the DP Trump Panty Sniffers said was a communist.

These ads are powerful. I'm glad there are a few honorable Republicans who care more about the welfare of our country than their own power and ideology.

The Lincoln Project's target demographic isn't trump supporters (they're unreachable), but the 10% of Republicans who find trump repulsive and are looking for permission to use this one election as a means for realigning the GOP onto a path of traditional principles. The Lincoln Project provides that permission structure.
