The Lincoln Project 'Fathers Day Ad' - I am scared too, Rick.

Well, there is gerrymandering which the Republican-controlled state legislators have put in place that greatly reduces the impact of anyone voting for Democrats, insuring a continuing Republican-controlled state legislature and more Republicans in the federal Senate and House than what they actually would have if their districts were drawn to be more reflective of the people living in their states.
You could replace "Democrats" with "women" and replace "Republicans" with "male Republicans," and this would still be true.

Well, there is gerrymandering which the Republican-male-controlled state legislators have put in place that greatly reduces the impact of anyone voting for women, insuring a continuing Republican-male-controlled state legislature and more Republican-males in the federal Senate and House than what they actually would have if their districts were drawn to be more reflective of the people living in their states.

I guess that I might have a misconception about the purpose of the Lincoln Project. I thought that they were trying to steer the Republican party away from radicalized right Tweetycultism back towards the traditional Romney era predatory capitalist Republican wing. If they believe what's in this commercial, on the other hand, they would have to vote against every Republican.
yes. they are mission creeping on moving targets. The organization is morally bankrupt because of the stunt they did at the Younkin campain pretending to be KKK and the founder was guilty of sexual harassment of youn g men

Great ad !!!!

The Lincoln Project is a leading pro-democracy organization in the United States — dedicated to the preservation, protection, and defense of democracy. Our fight against Trumpism is only beginning. We must combat these forces everywhere and at all times — our democracy depends on it.

While I often agree with and metaphorically applaud the ads this organization presents, I always keep in mind that they were formed largely from republicans or conservatives who could/can not accept the current GOP.

I do not hold republicans like that blameless for the direction their party took.

That said, they're a vastly better option than where the GOP seems headed currently.

I don't follow them closely. I've just seen a few of their commercials, and I mostly thought, "What are you doing? You aren't a Republican anymore. Let it go."

Awww. Poor thing. See that’s not the same thing, because pregnancy is neither contagious, nor life-threatening (in most cases).

If you can walk by a woman and catch pregnant, and then possibly die from it, then you’ll have an argument.
Oh, I have an argument but you don't like it. We call that 'tough'

I clearly did understand what I was being told. It was that a married woman could not hold their store's credit card in her own name, no matter what name she chose. Why else would there have been a law forbidding such a practice 10 years later? There was no way I was keeping my old name, for personal reasons. I had applied for and received a new SS card with my new name and old SS number, which I still have today. You have no idea what store I was dealing with and what our conversation was. So, your post is the one that is horse shit, not mine. And, I am not dumb, as you imply. I know what I am talking about. I was a lawyer. I was active (a few years later) in the feminist movement and gave talks to groups about the proposed ERA. So, just go away and acknowledge you are a misogynistic "know-it-all" who knows nothing about what it is to live life as a woman in these United States.

He doesn’t know what he’s taking about. Women couldn’t even have credit cards until 1974, and couldn’t be on their husband’s credit card unless he co-signed with her.

The Equal Credit Opportunity Act changed all that.

But he’s a man. He knows everything. 🙄

We’ll stop the shit when a bunch of men stop making laws around our bodies.

Cry some more.

The legislative bodies making abortion laws are predominantly men. Don’t believe me - feel free to pull up the headcount.

I know I speak for many women when I say I won’t for a GOP person for town dog catcher until the GOP stops attacking women’s bodily autonomy.

Bravo to the Lincoln Project. Keep up the good work!

I posted proof. He didn’t even bother to read the link, nor did he respond.

These people don’t want to learn.

Because your post will be filled with bullshit, like all the rest of your posts are.
I can't help with your issue relative to news and information you read about that upsets you

There isn’t much that upsets me. Pretty much anything you say doesn’t even get uploaded in my gray matter. It gets discarded, like all those extended warranty phone calls, and Kardashian commercials.

  1. Get a credit card in her own name.
  2. Be guaranteed that they would not get fired for getting pregnant.
  3. Serve on a jury.
  4. Fight on the front lines.
  5. Get an Ivy League education.
  6. Take legal action against workplace sexual harassment.
  7. Decide not to have sex with their husband.
  8. Obtain health insurance at the same monetary rate as a man.
  9. Take the birth control pill
Let’s take this step by step, verifying each of the nine points and keeping in mind that the list says "a woman," not "all women."

He's "MAGAsplaining."

This opinion piece appeared today in The Seattle Times. I am posting this so that a subscription is not necessary when read here. At least, I hope it is readable for all as it is an excellent article which expresses my opinion exactly:

I oould not read the article from your link but here it is in its entirety; Thanks for sharing. Shame

Thank you for that!
You are welcome

I especially thought this was one of the best excerpts from the article:

"I tell my daughter about her bodily sovereignty, and Idaho responds by asserting its own control, demanding abnegation — annihilation, even — at the altar of the unborn.

I pray my daughter never mistakes such thinly veiled misogyny for divinely inspired morality. And I will fight for an end to legislated shame as she barrels headlong into the battleground of womanhood."
