Just 16% of Americans surveyed said religion is the most important thing in their lives,

"Americans are becoming increasingly likely to become religiously unaffiliated."

Here's an interesting bit:

PRRI found that Christian congregations are still largely racially segregated.

A good sign here:
Among those who've left a religion, more than one-third say they were formerly Catholic.

Participation in houses of worship continues to decline, according to the study. Twenty-eight percent of respondents said they "seldom" attend religious services, and 29% of respondents said they "never" attend religious services. A decade ago, those figures were 22% and 21%, respectively.

All in all a somewhat comforting trend, even if it's a bit slower than some here would prefer.

Now let's sit back and not wait long to hear how the above is exactly what's destroying the country.

decadent west. utterly without any spirituality. we're born we eat we ****, we die.. that's all folks

I don't think there's ever been much spirituality in America. At least not from those who settled here from European countries and then procreated like rabbits for the last few hundred years.

Most people are born into a religion and basically brainwashed with it for decades.
The adhere to what's been expected of them for generations. Can't upset mommy and daddy.

Sure some "change" or "adopt" a new church, but it's usually just a different shade of white.

I don't consider it "spiritual" if you're just plodding along like sheep.
And that's what most Christians in America are.
Sheep.

Good. Since right-wing Christianity doesn't know how not to infiltrate our political sphere, the only alternative is for right-wing Christianity to die out.

Nah, it just shifts the burden of creating meaning and purpose in your life to you, and away from prefabricated wild stories.

So what will it be for you? Family? Career? Some carefully crafted blend of the two? Will hobbies play an important role?

You have some hard thinking to do.

Religious leaders should to be thinking about why they don't appeal to people anymore.

If people don't like a product, it's not the customer's fault.

Apparently, a fairly educated populace doesn't need a group of mostly closeted pedophiles and homosexuals to teach us morality.

I think the decline is more to do with people maturing and seeing religion for what is.

Maybe they're not influencers like on YouTube, Tik Tok, Instagram, ect.? Good thing too.

It's not a good thing if they want their religion to continue to be relevant.

First, why is the belief in a higher power necessary for spirituality?
But more importantly, why does the non belief in a sky go mean decadence?
People who eat, procreate, raise goods kids and then die are decadent because they know they are not going to a "higher place?"

“decadence” is an odd word to be used in that context isn’t it?

Of course!

And we know who to blame for this as well:

Globalists
Wokers
MSM
Drag Queens
Commies
Canadian Snowflakes
Nah, let's put the blame where it belongs...
