I hope the republicans are smart enough to not impeach Joe Biden, as the baton then passes to Kamala Harris. But my guess is they probably know that all they have to do is start some serious investigations into Hunter and Joe will have to do anything the republicans want, including giving up full control of the teleprompter to them. Impeachments don't end in anything if the senate can't convict. They would need 67 republicans in order to convict. We all saw this with Trump twice. It will be a waste of everyone's time. Especially since the house really has nothing to impeach him over.

Revenge politics. Keep in mind, if republicans win back the house, it will be mostly because of the issues with the economy. And they will spend their time doing investigations into the Bidens and impeachments instead of doing anything about inflation.

They will play Russian Roulet with the debt limit, and risk throwing the world economy into a tailspin in order to extort spending cuts in millions of senior's Medicare and SS.

Let's clarify a few things. Even if Republicans win every Senate seat in the election there still won't be a 2/3 majority to remove Biden from office. Removing both Both Biden and Harris would yield a Republican president, but that would require having democratic senators to vote to convict.

The second point is that it's supposed to be about some high crime. Policy choices are not crimes. Usually it would be in the order, crime specified first impeachment later.

The house is the sole owner of impeachment so they can 'name that crime' and start impeachment proceedings any time they wish.
