Many commentators and journalists have noted how the IDF seems to kill an abnormal amount of children for the type of conflict that Israel and Palestine are involved in. No week passes by without reports of incidents where the IDF bombs children and kills children. And no other conflict sees this level of barbarism when it comes to killing children. Stories like this are all too common in this conflict
And what happens?? There are international condemnations, and there are justifications from the USA. And then nothing more. It is a brutal cycle and in the last 20 years 2500 children have been murdered by Israelis.
And worse?? The soldiers on the ground seem to know this fact and they do not care. Back in 2009, Israeli t-shirts made fun of killing arab pregnant women and young children. How utterly barbaric.
The typical response from Israel apologists is that the Palestinians use human shields, including children. This is basically a justification for Israel to put the blame of their civilian deaths onto Hamas. But as usual with Israeli/chosen people tropes, it is a lie.
"If the use of human shields was so wide as to cause hundreds upon hundreds of dead Palestinian civilians, then surely there would be a reporter or an observer on the ground that could have caught a whiff of it. But reporters on the ground could find no trace of such a supposedly widespread action, Jeremy Bowen of the BBC wrote that he found no evidence of the use of human shields while he was covering the assault on Gaza. Similarly, Kim Sengupta writing for the Belfast Telegraph interviewed Palestinians in Gaza and unsurprisingly came to a similar conclusion: Hamas was not forcing anybody to be a human shield, counter to Netanyahu’s claims."
The fact is that Hamas isn't forcing anybody to be a human shield. Gaza City is extremely dense so it makes sense how military infrastructure can get intertwined with civilian, but that is not the definition of human shields. Hamas isn't using them, and Israel is bombing non-military targets on the weekly.

Myth: Palestinians use human shields | Decolonize Palestine
Claiming Palestinians use their own people as human shields aims to dehumanize them and justify Israeli killings. While there is no evidence that Palestinians practice this, there are mountains of evidence of the IDF doing so.
