And, you, must believe that there would be no consequences for the asshat that does the beating? No jail time, no criminal record. When did "I didn't like what he was saying" become a legitimate defense to violence?

So, based on what you've written, you believe there should be no consequences for the Kirk shooter since he didn't like what Kirk was saying?

Maybe? I already said I'm not a lawyer. What I do know is the kid deserved to get knocked down. I could not care less if you disagree.

Only emotionally challenged individuals settle problems with violence,
And settling problems with fists is an inappropriate message for children.

According to you. Congratulations, nobody cares. The world is a better place when there are real consequences for behavior in the op. It has no place in society.

Untrue and unsurprising. Anyone supporting the idea of hate speech, a creation of the left, is advocation for the end of speech for those they oppose. Where do you stand on that?

How was that a whataboutism? You asked a pretty general question. Its not like I said that other people shouldn't have consequences for their actions, though is CAN be said that being beaten because you said something that someone doesn't like is a pretty extreme result. As long as you are okay with the person doing the assaulting being held accountable for THEIR actions, I actually think we are in agreement. Color me surprised.

IMO, if someone mocked someone being assassinated at a gathering to mourn that person, they deserve to get their ass kicked. Period.
