The Hypocrisy and Harm of the Left in the US #1 (Gentrification/Housing in Leftist Cities)

Is the left hypocritical when it gentrifies neighborhoods across the country

Its not nonsensical, the left are the major proponent of these ideas, just as people would understand if I said Germany was nazis even though not everyone in Germany voted for it, You asked for clarifications and I provided.
It is, you can use terminology like “the left” and assign group responsibility while acknowledging there is no group responsibility when it comes to moral choices.

Personally I believe this issue is more complicated than left and right. As well as this, I'd say it is more rooted in classism than racism, although a great deal of racism stems from classism. If America as a whole properly zoned and economically improved existing communities, as well as constructed more affordable housing and public service buildings, this would not be as much of an issue.

Here in Los Angeles, there is an area that is predominately Hispanic.

Many years ago, it was predominately Jewish.

Recently some young Caucasians have been gentrifying the area.

There has been some minor violence (not against people but some vandalism).

The Los Angeles media are mostly mum on this sensitive topic.

The City Council member for this area is Hispanic.

He has asked residents not to be violent.

He has said something to this effect: Life is always changing, and we have to learn to adjust to it.

So I guess that he means that Hispanic people should get good prices for their property and then move to other areas.

Before we criticize Caucasians for gentrification, we should also remember that some previously all African American communities have now become Hispanic areas. Some of those displaced African Americans have moved farther out into surrounding areas of Los Angeles.

Low-cost housing is disappearing in this city.

I have no idea how to solve this sad situation. (I think that San Francisco is asking people to rent out rooms to teachers because the latter cannot afford the apartment rents in Frisco.)
And the Hispanics pushed the blacks out of East LA out to the Inland Empire.

Well-meaning liberals keep assuring us that a harmonious multicultural society is just around the corner.

If one respectfully disagrees, one is labeled with the R-word.
