The House voted to end the decades-long agreement for California to set higher emission standards

It could be but 10 years and no political will means it will not be built.
Kind of self-fulfilling for Republicans. I'm not convinced yet though.

They are planning to shut down the nuclear power plants, but no new ones are being planned.

That doesn't help but doesn't mean they can't build enough.

The Biden-Harris-Newsome scheme to subsidize PG&E's Diablo Canyon with billions of taxpayer dollars plus Power Charge Indifference Assessment increases to consumer rates is dumb, dangerous, and expensive. Radiological embrittlement, due to metallurgical design flaws in the Unit 1 reactor vessel, risk millions of people. PG&E filed for a deferment to avoid further embrittlement testing. Three million pounds of highly radioactive waste, needing 250,000 years of safe-keeping, is stored in dry casks designed to last only 100 years. Where is the waste repository the Feds promised 60 years ago ? Diablo Canyon, built on an earthquake fault, should be closed, now.

I never verified it, but I heard during the fires, some fire trucks from other states were not allowed in because of not meeting standards, and many that were let in, were to heavy and had to dump some water.

Anyone know?
I wonder how much admission came out of those fires. I bet it's more than all the cars and trucks combined in the entire State put out in a year.
