The Heller vs. DC decision won't last much longer

President to be Hillary Clinton already has over 50 percent approval ratings in the polls. And the Republicans need to defend 24 senate seats in 2-16, compared to 10 for the Democrats. Add in the fact that the old, white racist base of the GOP is dying out, replaced with a more cosmopolitan, diverse youth likely to vote democrat, and all factors point towards Democrat control of the presidency and senate in 2016.

Read these next sentences, and weep, NRA members. When Scalia retires, Hillary will nominate a successor who actually respects the people's right to be free from gun violence. Same with Ginsberg, or Kennedy. Both might retire in Hillary's term of office.

The new supreme court will easily strike down any frivolous gun cases brought by the NRA. They will respect the people's right to not get shot. They will limit guns to actual militias (AKA police officers and the national guard.) They will overturn Heller vs. DC and McDonald vs. Chicago.

Washington DC and Chicago, as well as any other enlightened city, will be able to go back to keeping its citizens safe and handguns off the streets.

Oh yeah, I can't wait for them to sock it to Heller.

I suggested the first one "go south" Even Kagan said she'd respect the Heller precedent/. Ginsburg is the most likely next Justice to retire

The right to keep and bear arms has nothing to do with a right to shoot people. Can you name one case where the shooter claimed (successfully) that the 2A gave them the right to shoot someone?

What you propose (changing the interpretation of the 2A into protection of government employees only) is simply never going to happen. The military, police and prison guards do not carry guns because they simply choose to based on the 2A, in fact, military bases, police stations and prisons have some of the strictest gun control restrictions in the nation.
 
I don't want to see any of the Justices pass away.
But you and I both know if Ginsburg leaves this Earth, we will have a 5-3/4-4 USSC until the next President and Senate take over in 2017.

I've been wanting to ask you:
What precedents are there in case law history for a 4-4 ruling and what happens then oh wise counselor ?

a 4-4 would most likely result in the lower ruling remaining intact

Why not. We want less gun violence, and a reversal of the magical "individual right to bear arms" would certainly get many guns out of houses where they could be used for murder or suicide.

how so: with the reversal of the DC and CHICAGO gun bans, the crime rate has DECREASED. Gun hatred is pretty much the sign of a weak mind anyway

What bothers me is that she's a far right gun nut who killed her roommate, and is now hoping that Murica' protects her
