Demographics And The Supreme Court Doom The GOP

The facts are irrefutable. While for its entire history the US had been a majority white and Protestant nation, in the very foreseeable future that will change. The fastest growing minority voting block is Latino. The fastest shrinking voting block is white and 55 or older, a group the GOP could always count on. The numbers are easily available. Article after article has been written about these changing demographics. Yet the GOP continues to support policies that are repugnant to not only the Latino population, but all minorities and progressives in the country. Their attitudes towards immigration, education, healthcare, gun control, a minimum wage increase, pay equity, taxes and the growing gap between the "haves" and "have-nots" are contrary to the interests of all but the very wealthy, the ideologically right-wing, or the religious right. Combining these groups in a Presidential election does not a victory bring. This is an irrefutable fact proven during the last two elections. Thus, the demographics and the empirical experience of the last two elections prove that GOP behavior is self-defeating.

yet most hispanics aren't liberal they are very much conservative.
yet given that this drivel is written by the daily kos the nonsense is noted.

the GOP isn't going anywhere.

If the Daily Kos says so I guess it's true. However, If I had a dollar for every time one party or the other was supposed to die I'd have a lot of dollars. Currently the GOP is adrift without a compass, but I'm sure they will evolve (or is that term reserved for democrats only?) eventually.

In national politics it has already died. It isn't going to die soon in most of the congressional districts though, and they might hang on to the House for quite some time, while never again winning the Presidency.

Yeah, lots of times one party has predicted the other's demise. Hasn't happened yet.

If the repubs do "die", something other competitor will rise in its place. More like, the R's will reorganize, rebrand and come up with a new platform. At most.

Youngest people have always been the most liberal and we see generation after generation they change to be more conservative. Hense the saying: conservative at 20 you have no heart, liberal at 40 you have no brain.

Soon is subjective - but unless something changes they have another 20-30 years.

Democrats and now the Progressive far left have had a long term plan and they've made good on it. Teach generations with liberal ideology from K-College, instill white guilt, instill progressive views, out the other side as evil where possible, control the unions which do the educating. Indoctrinate the african americans - absolutely successful as >90% of black americans vote Democrat. Keep minorities repressed by offering welfare of every sort and boil it down to a moral obligation. Today, immigration is a big deal because the borders need to be open for the influx of Hispanics to continue to come to the US and for the Democratic Progressives to get them on their side - give them whatever they need, make sure they understand Democrats are working for them, Hispanics will hopefully also be a >90% voting block. Democrats stay permanently as President (unless someone really really screws up), the SCOTUS is stacked with Progressive ideologues who say they work within the constitution but really couldn't give two squirts about it. That's 2/3 of the government. Over time, the GOP in Congress goes away... Progressives can then replace the old and confusing constitution with something more modern and updated and we, the people, can finally see the socialist arm of the Progressives come out and admit that's what they wanted all along.

Fact? Hardly... but certainly we cannot get the Progressive utopia with that darned Constitution standing in the way. The problem is that with socialist agenda the power usually corrupts and we get authoritarian or even worse, totalitarian at the same time. Certainly not a guarantee and as many might say, Sweden and Norway blah blah blah. But the US isn't Sweden or Norway. Is it inevitable? No... but we've been on that track now for quite a few decades. Apparently I ate my Conspiracy-O's this morning.

yet most hispanics aren't liberal they are very much conservative.

That may be, but they certainly dont vote for people who absolutely hate them.

yet given that this drivel is written by the daily kos the nonsense is noted.

Yes it is from KOS, but the points they make are very valid.

the GOP isn't going anywhere.

Nope it aint, but it might become very irrelevant if it cant get rid of the anti-Hispanic racist groupings that drive the GOP these days. The whole debate over illegal immigration has turned into an anti-Hispanic crusade and no amount of token and fake Hispanic candidates will change that.

since the GOP doesn't hate hispanics you are well wrong.

Yes it is from KOS, but the points they make are very valid.
if you consider nonsense valid then i guess it would.

nope not anti-hispanic racists except some fringy people but then again you have those in the democratic party as well.
if it has turned into an anti-hispanic crusade it is due to the dishonesty of the liberal media and liberals themselves.

are you saying that Marco Rubio isn't hispanic? please prove it.

Youngest people have always been the most liberal and we see generation after generation they change to be more conservative. Hense the saying: conservative at 20 you have no heart, liberal at 40 you have no brain.

looking at it from a logical point at no time can you really be a liberal and have a brain. unless you consider brainwashing a brain.

:tilts head:

Interesting. I imagine, reading this is like when a European reads someone over here ranting about how Europe has already surrendered to Shariah Law, and how Muslims actually control the streets in Europe's capitals, etc. so on and so forth. Just complete disconnect from reality due to poor information.

I think that is pretty accurate. Parties have always re-invented themselves when necessary. Just look how the Dems and GOP have reversed positions on African Americans and Big Business over the last century.

The fact is that at least 40% of the nation feels comfortable with the Republican approach and even if the party has to change - that group will still vote for a pro-business group based in mostly white suburbs that represent the upper tier of the economic strata.

That may be, but they certainly dont vote for people who absolutely hate them.

The GOP speaking negatively about illegals does not mean they hate Hispanics. Taking note that many people are coming in from Mexico and south of the border is again not hating Hispanics.

since the GOP doesn't hate hispanics you are well wrong.

LOL yea sure..

nope not anti-hispanic racists except some fringy people but then again you have those in the democratic party as well.

Those "fringy" people are people like Donald Trump, and they are very very vocal.

if it has turned into an anti-hispanic crusade it is due to the dishonesty of the liberal media and liberals themselves.

More denial....

are you saying that Marco Rubio isn't hispanic? please prove it.

No I am saying he is a liar and has been caught with his pants down. Marco Rubio claimed for years he was the son of refugees from Castros Cuba... until the "liberal" media found out that his parents left Cuba when the pro-US dictator was running the place... and years before Castro came to power.

If a person who's whole political start is based on being a "Cuban American refugee" suddenly is not a refugee, then you have a problem. What else did he lie about?

If only the GOP weren't so idiotic as to continue pushing policies like, "deport yourselves," and just offered a path to citizenship, then they might even be able to turn those conservative latinos into votes.

We already have a path to citizenship. Did you forget perhaps that illegals went around it?

The GOP speaking negatively about illegals does not mean they hate Hispanics. Taking note that many people are coming in from Mexico and south of the border is again not hating Hispanics.

Well it is pretty irrelevant if they mean it or not.. it is the fact that many Hispanics, like blacks feel targeted by the GOP for what is often perceived as group punishment and targeting. And this is why the GOP has a problem with the Hispanic population now, and in the medium term. In 10 years.. who knows, things can change... after all once it was the Democratic party that was the party of racist and bigots.

I have been making the argument lately that these demographic issues and the failure of the GOP to adopt policies that are wholly endorsed by a significant majority of the population also has a role to play in why there are so many legitimate GOP Presidential candidates.

Essentially, my argument goes that the size of the Presidential field for a particular party is a reflection of the inherent weaknesses for the party as a whole. If you look at the last 11 elections, during seven of those elections, the party with the larger group of legitimate (defined as "currently or previously holding a national political position [or governorship]) candidates ended up loosing the election. And during two of those non-conforming situations, you have Carter beating the Nixon successor and then Reagan beating Carter, who was challenged from within his own party.

LOL yea sure..

i am sorry you have an issue with actually upholding our nations laws? or only when they are politically expident to igore them?
i work with plenty of hispanics and people all over the world. they don't like illegal immigration either so i guess they are anit-hispanic as well.

Those "fringy" people are people like Donald Trump, and they are very very vocal.

so are the radicals in the democratic party what is your point exactly?

More denial....

what denial?
you just don't like the truth of the matter. very few republicans are anti-hispanic. we support our nations laws that say without permission you are not supposed to be here.
we support out laws that say if you want to come to america here is the way to do it.

of course to the liberal left that wants to bring them all here then give them free social services so they can vote democrats in their twisted logic we hate hispanics.

So you can't prove his isn't a hispanic thanks for admitting it.

If only the GOP weren't so idiotic as to continue pushing policies like, "deport yourselves," and just offered a path to citizenship, then they might even be able to turn those conservative latinos into votes.

we have a path to citizenship they chose to ignore it and broke the law.

It is tough to claim that it is only "some fringy" people making these anti-hispanic rants when that "fringy" person is currently leading your polls in national polling and doing very well in the primaries of very influential states.

Well it is pretty irrelevant if they mean it or not.. it is the fact that many Hispanics, like blacks feel targeted by the GOP for what is often perceived as group punishment and targeting. that is because we have a moronic liberal party and a liberal media that continues to hide the truth from people.
if people actually educated themselves about the liberal party logic they would never vote for another liberal again.

actually the democratic party is still like that. they have just since changed who they target.

If the Daily Kos says so I guess it's true. However, If I had a dollar for every time one party or the other was supposed to die I'd have a lot of dollars. Currently the GOP is adrift without a compass, but I'm sure they will evolve (or is that term reserved for democrats only?) eventually.

The parties only care about themselves. We need someone who thinks and acts outside that box.
