There is no question that the GOP has been completely cowed by Trump. The latest evidence is Grassley bending down and kissing Trump's, well you know what. This after McCarthy and most of the others in leadership in that party doing the same. Many who earlier, including Grassley never questioned the 2020 election, now toe Trump's line and mouth the same inane big lie about the election being stolen. This is all caused by Trump's loyal followers who believe anything Trump tells them and seem willing to have him as the authoritarian leader of this country. The GOP party itself seems aimed at eliminating the Dem party through voter suppression actions, gerrymandering and with the cooperation of the far right media and right wing Christian evangelicals. So, what kind of country will we have in 20 years, who knows, but unless the GOP wakes up, I am glad I am too old to find out.

We are seeing exploding fuel prices, gasoline, heating fuel all because Joe killed the XL pipeline while oking the Nord 2 pipeline for Russia, (talk about Russian Collusion) and killing fracking, now he's begging OPEC to produce more oil as the prices explode. $1.30 a gallon more now than a year ago, thanks Joe. Cargo ships sitting in the harbors in CA because nobody wants to work, (200,000 jobs was all that were produced last month Joe). Schools locked down, teachers demanding extra pay to work and then staying home with Joes support. Food prices sky high, fuel prices, auto prices all off the charts. The independents are polling at 60% not happy with joe, guess they should have known better based on his record, liberal agenda, and his flimsy campaign.

I guess you forget the history of Trump. He got a fired up economy from Obama. In fact, Obama's last three months in office, employment gains were larger then the first three months of Trump's. In short, Trump took a great economy and ruined it by trying to turn a deadly pandemic into just another flu season. Had he gone after this virus with the full weight of the government, he could have showed himself to be a great leader and headed off the economy's downturn. Instead he tried to down play it and ended up losing the next election. It is not what you get from the last president as far as the economy is concerned, it is what you do with it and Trump killed the economy.

And as someone who was a Republican faithful for 36 years, working on multiple campaigns for both national and local/state candidates, I know TG is right. The Republicans have known this for some time too. There are not enough "new Republicans" coming online to replace the dying ones. They can only win again with the nuttery votes.
