Today we had the first snow of the year.
Punctually on the first of December.
Did you have the first snow of 2020 already - or is it still to come?

The first snow of the year here was back in January.

I suppose you know exactly what I mean: The first snow of this year's winter season.
I know, I was just joshing.

We had ours in the mid west about 2 or 3 weeks ago, but it was gone the next day.

Last year, here in NY, we had our first and only snow of the year today, DEcember 1st.

Was it snowing in November 2020 anywhere in the US?

In my local area...Colorado Springs...not sure when we had our first snow, but I remember remarking to a friend that we had snow before Halloween this year. We pretty much always get snow in November.

Colorado Springs, CO, USA

Latitude and longitude coordinates are: 38.846127, -104.800644.

Elevation: 1832m / 6010feet

Interesting! :)

I know a family in Colorado. Near Denver.
And they like to hike in the Colorado mountains.
So it may well be that they have seen snow there.

Rumpel: Central Canada - Ot snowed once in late October but then melted. It snowed twice heavily in November but then melted. It snowed Nov. 30th to Dec.1st and it's still snowing now. Expecting to get between 10 and 20 cm (4-8") by tonight. I just came in from shovelling the divine's dandruff. Wet and heavy today.

Cheers and be well.

And what do you prefer: Snow or rain? And what about hail? :)

Cheers and be well. (y) (y)

Rumpel:

You don't have to shovel rain but freezing rain is a real problem in much of Canada due to our exposed hydroelectric transmission systems. When I lived in Montreal we lost power for 11 days after a very bad Ice-rain Storm in 1998 due to freezing rain. We also lost a huge number of beautiful trees in that storm, many over a century old.

So warm rain or dry, cold snow are preferred.

Cheers and be well.

First snow was in mid October this year. In the past had in I early September which damaged a lot of trees

The snow has no gone here.
But it will return - I am sure.

Rumpel:

"Winter is coming.".

Cheers and be well.
