Even if the relief wells hit the casing, there's no guarantee the mud will clog the oil rushing through the casing. It didn't work inside the BOP because the oil pressure was to high, so why do they think it will work now? It's a crap-shoot and the people are the losers as usual.

The only clear permanent solution is to extract the damaged, leaky BOP and drop a tight fitting cap over the exposed oil casing. The weight of a thousand pound cap can easily overcome the flow of the spurting oil.

Maneuvering the LMRP over the top of the BOP stack, and dropping it into place, shows that it can be done. So why not another tighter cap?

That's what I've been saying since the beginning of this travesty.
But then again, what do I know?
Very little about oil wells, I'm sure.

The trick is to find the right people and make a convincing case they can relate with.
