Has anyone here read any Dorthy Hughes? I came across her work when I bought a collection of crime/suspense short stories written by women. Dorthy Hughes us one of them.

She wrote In a Lonely Place which was made into a Humphrey Bogart film. It is excellent. Better than the film (as always).

I am now reading The Expendable Man which has a plot twist in it that I never imagined and could never be replicated on film. It is truly startling. Both are highly recommended.
