A firm handshake no. What we witnessed in the video was well beyond a firm handshake. Bowing is not seen that way everywhere, but what matters is how it's done, which is easy for the uninitiated to get wrong.

Things have charged in our culture, I guess. I mean, I lived through the androgynous 80s and I’ve never seen such a lack of manhood like I see in these Trump people.

As for bowing, the rules are actually pretty simple. The dominant party bows last, less deep and for less time. Obama broke all of these rules.
