The Draft is Unconstitutional

the draft isn't a punishment it is compulsory military service that is paid.
Compulsory military service is punishment.
Unless they are physically unable, or of a religious belief that is contrary to military service.
Why should a religious belief and not a person's non-violent belief or being a parent of a small child just as good.?
compulsory (involuntary) service (servitude) is precisely what A13 prohibits.
Exactly...
Right, punishment for a crime is the only condition where involuntary servitude *is* legal. Since that isn't the case with the draft my conclusion is that it's illegal.
Correct.

A draft should only be used in rare, extreme situations. However, I think that the point of the OP is that someone is annoyed with women again tonight and wants to talk about drafting them.
Could status as an Incel also be motivation for the OP to be driven by misogyny?

I agree with you to a point. Waiting for an invading force to hit breach our sovereignty seems too late though. The draft is coming up as recruiting goals are falling quickly. It's hard to attract prospective war fighters with the current social experiment military.
You are right. The draft is very near, as very few will voluntarily sign up to fight Russia and then China. One can also extrapolate that, with all the inclusiveness going on, when the draft hits it will also include women and I even wager that the maximum age will be raised and it could include essentially everyone. Most, importantly the war propaganda has already gotten so much support from the american people that it essentially tells the government that all americans are willing to die to save America from the bad guys. I bet those few that survive the next upcoming global war won't fall for the propaganda anymore and will be much more active in holding their government accountable.

The Draft is Unconstitutional

What do you think?
Whether a male only draft violates the equal protection clause is an interesting question. However, draft in general is authorized to Congress under Article 1, Section 8, clause 12.

🤨

That's what they are doing. You want to pull them away from that and put a gun in their hands against their will.
Well to be fair Conscientious objectors have been drafted. They serve as medics, clerks, logistics where weapons are not put in their hands.... ✌️

If the cause is just conscription should not be necessary.
How long do y'all think Afghanistan would have lasted with a draft?
The all volunteer military is about 1% of the countries population, making most everyone a fortunate son.
Not advocating for a return to the Draft, just laying out some thoughts.

One day earlier was 342, one later was in the 180's First lotto I ever won and I was the prize.

The year I pulled 171, they only called up to number 170.
True story.

My buddy was shot off a tank in Vietnam. Hit in the head. He lived but of course was disabled.

War, life really is a lottery.

Were they forced to be there? Were they forced to perform work against their will? If so, then it's slavery or involuntary servitude.

Cry more. I don't give a shit.

I did no crying, I simply point out the deplorable comments in your posts.

I was all volunteer rented Air Force

We don't want to serve next to someone who does not want to be there

and outlawed by the 13th amendment.

Yeah, a few of my high school classmates didn't come home or were permanently disabled. As it turned out the law allowed by to enlist in the Navy as long as I did it before my reporting date.

They are both illegal in the same sense. Both convictions will continue to show up on civilian background checks and haunt you for a long time.

OK...but I don't understand the relevance to conscription.
Conscripted soldiers are not completely subject to a superiors orders.

Correct.
Religion is protected by the Constitution, that is why. Also, no, it is not punishment.

Sorry, religious belief is not acceptable a dodge.
We accept way too much religious belief in this country as it is now.
You belive religion on your time without interference to society in any way.
oh but it is...it is enshrined in the 1st Amendment.

People forget, joining the National Guard was a draft dodge at the time. That is what Bush Jr did. It was hard to join as they had lines to join to avoid the draft. But somehow Bush got in.

That constitution is ridiculously 🔥. Its 2022. It has seldom been "fixed."
Certainly it needs tons of revisions.

No, it doesn't. Just because it is inconvenient for you does not mean that it should be revised.

Its not inconvenient its trash today. Time has passed it by.
