If you say something negative about the people in charge in Russia, your days are limited you will either be poisoned, thrown out a window, or put ina gulag where your life will be vert short. With the present government in this country, if you say something negative about someone on the right, the government will put financial pressure on your employer and you will be fired. Two recent examples are Colbert and Kimmel. With the government talking about taking their license’s away if they do not “cooperate “ it is hard for the gutless companies to say no. So now, free speech is no longer free if you do not go along with a government that is moving to the far right.

The FBI tried to get MLK Jr to kill himself. The U.S. government has never particularly cared about “freedom of speech”….no matter how many times Americans desperately try to ignore that in favor of patting themselves on the back and crying “but Russia”

Even the NYT is saying Colbert got canceled because it wasn't profitable.

I don't think we are far from people being poisoned and thrown out of windows in the US, and there are already gulags.

I am no historian by any stretch but...all this disinformation style truth rewriting is eerily like the KBG playbook. Where lies and truths are told so fast and earnestly that neither are true yet both are, where the lie becomes the truth and the truth becomes the lie depending on tone, perspective, and feeling truth is only how good you are at manifesting with through roleplay. Russia had their way with us on the internet stage and basically won. They saw Trump as the epitome of all the stereotypes they wanted to paint us all as and gave a little helpful push. Turns out Trump represented more of us than didn't (well, by raw numbers, only once), and is using the government exactly as I would expect an American born Putin to act like.
