That first vote told us how this is going to go.

Democrats made every argument that all should happen. Was a clear and open hearing with all available information.

Republicans voted unanimously that they had no interest in the truth, he facts or even an open and fair hearing...

Myself, I'm just content with Trump having been impeached. That stain will never wash off and will forever define his legacy.

I just hope that, when the dems once again control the house, senate and oval office, they give it like they got it and do away with the olive-branch approach Obama tried using. Time to ram the **** down the GOP's throat mercilessly. No holds barred next time.

Because that was the responsibility of the house not the senate. The senate isn't responsible for fixing and helping dems prosecution. The onus was on them to call witnesses. They chose not to. They did this so they could do exactly what they are doing now which is crybaby unfair. This should tell all astute people that dems know they will lose

So what? The sequence of events is roughly the same as the Clinton trial. The Senate, in the Clinton trial put off a decision on a key sticking point -- whether to call witnesses.

The House evidence, in a last minute change, will be submitted automatically subject only to objections based on hearsay.

I think you and other trump supporters should just be honest. You don't want witnesses or documents because you know he did exactly what he's accused of. You support the president of the united states assertion that the white house is allowed to deny any and all document requests or requests for testimony period full stop. It's also obvious you'd argue the exact opposite if the president was a democrat. Trump supporters should be ashamed at what they've done to the country.

As I was also against Clinton's impeachment, I would know better than you if I'd argue the "exact opposite" if the President were a democrat. I have never asserted that any President has the right to "deny any and all document requests or requests for testimony", and in fact believe it is usually required save for limited instances of executive privilege.

I did some kinetic things for our governmen't for a time. It's best to leave it at that.

If you've done some questionable things, legally speaking, I wouldn't talk to the folks you mentioned either.
 
I finally got around to watch some of the Senate activity. There's a lady...a Democrat...talking. She says over and over about Trump being "politically motivated".

It'll be interesting to hear the Dem's response when they are asked what they base that characterization of Trump's motivation. If all they can come up with is "because so and so said that's what they think it is", they'll have a hard time justifying their contention. They really do need to come up with more.

I wish them luck.

Going to play devil's advocate for a moment. If your last statement of, "Republicans voted unanimously that they had no interest in the truth, he facts or even an open and fair hearing." is true, Then did the House Democrats vote to impeach without really establishing the charges were true?

I can agree new witness can and maybe should be called in the Senate. I am tired of the well the vote was down party lines. Seems that is what happened in the House. What you are saying is the House impeachment package is not good enough to hold up in the Senate.

I would like Trump gone. Best avenue is not to reelect him. What is going on now is politics. Even with Clinton votes were mostly down party lines and in the end the Senate did not remove him from office. I know its not the same type of impeachment charges.

You have a very strange sense of what is going on if you think Democrats are winning this argument. Must hurt to know that Trump is not going to be removed. Not going to happen because the democrats don't have a case for removal, they only had the partisan votes for an impeachment vote.
