The decline of civil discourse from the anti gun movement

Nebraska professor fined for vandalizing NRA leader's home

I wonder if the school will fire this twit for engaging in criminal activity. I wonder if the more mainstream gun restrictionists will condemn such petty nastiness or will they make excuses for the vandal?

Zero excuses here, let the police do their job.

Though I did get a tiny little chuckle seeing you post about the decline of civil discourse from the anti gun movement, my friend... ;) haha Just playin', don't kill me. :P

I have not heard of any NRA members being arrested for trashing the homes of Bannerrhoid movement leaders have you? and if they did, they are actually attacking the people trying to take away OUR rights. These anti gun twits claim they are attacking the purveyors of gun violence which is a lie-the real creators of gun violence are the drug traffickers and our politicians who have helped create the drug trade with the idiotic war on drugs.

The cops did their job already... so did the courts...

Was this thread meant to be ironic?

Maybe Cox should stop promoting guns ?

he's promoting the civil and constitutional rights of law abiding citizens. But you knew that but admitting that has no troll value does it?

The article noted the twit plans on appealing her conviction. I wonder what her grounds are-the being a moronic gun hating leftwing asshole means you aren't subject to laws against criminal mischief and vandalism?

Yup, I agree completely. This kind of thing removes credibility, and constitutes BS. No argument from me. :)

So a cherry picked bad actor is generalized to the entire anti-gun movement. Sounds like a winner of a subject header.
Is this where gun owners threaten "over my head body", or "come and take them", or something like that? Some sides are already scraping the bottom, aren't they.

Here's the university's statement. Doesn't sound like they are condemning.
NU regents bylaws say the university should not penalize an employee in such a way that it duplicates a civil penalty. If the interest of the academic community is involved, the university may assert its authority, the bylaws say.

Ironically, an acquaintance of the fined professor apparently feels the law does should not apply to them. A case of moral relativism if there ever was one. These people.

Amanda Gailey, a UNL professor and president of Nebraskans Against Gun Violence, questioned how “Cox has the nerve to cry to the courts because someone allegedly put a harmless red substance” on his steps.
Gailey gained publicity for holding up a protest sign during the Aug. 25 episode involving a sophomore who was recruiting for the conservative Turning Point USA. Gailey also held a sign of protest last month near Cox’s residence. She wasn’t charged or disciplined for either of those activities.
Gailey said Monday: “In Santa Fe, Texas, parents are putting children in a morgue because yet another disgruntled boy easily got weapons, thanks to gun laws pushed by Mr. Cox.”

There is no civil discousre with gun supporters, they lack rational arguments. THey rely on stupid **** like "guns don't kill people, people kill people" or "the more people are armed the safer we are" or they just deny the reality of school shootings. Or they pretend they would be rambo during a situation and save the day, meanwhile the reality is they would probably piss themselves, or end up shooting innocent people.

Look at most threads on this, the gun supporters do nothing but deflect and make blanket statements with nothing to back it up

Absolutely...

And add in the fact that they generalize opinions and assume that anyone who is in favor of any amount of gun control is a "banner".
Productive dialogues are impossible with these extremist gun nuts.

You have the right to be offended by free speech.
Civil discourse stops when an anti-gun nut willfully breaks the law.

Offended? I'm not offended. I'm simply pointing out the that someone who is lamenting the decline of civil discourse isn't being civil in his discourse.

Just a tip. Usually when you are trying to make a thread that tries to pretend that the other side is the only one ok with committing crimes and destroying property, it's best not to throw out some kind of preemptive excuse as to why it would be better if your side did it.

think this through. I am not trashing anyone's property or engaging in criminal activity. Nor is the NRA

He's not the one that picked the term "civil discourse". Think it through.

You guys never get tired of that pathetic line of rhetoric, do you? Any time there is news story not complimentary to your way of thinking you rush out to minimize it as a 'cherry picked bad actor'. Yet any time there is a story that paints someone in a negative light in a countering position, boy....its relevant as ****...right?

And whats TRULY comical, is that while you are ****ting yourself about rhetoric you just conveniently ignore the leftist comments in this thread already...including your own.

The absurdity of VanceMack of all people replying in a thread about civil discourse.
