Jon Snow recounts the scene in Gaza's al-Shifa hospital, where doctors struggle to treat adults and children wounded by Israeli attacks.

Video @: The Children of Gaza
Call me what you want, but I literally cried because o this.
There is no 3 minute video or any amount of self education that will ever prepare you for the reality of the situation in Gaza for the kids (even without the current ground operation). It's impossible to imagine it or even explain it unless you see it, and even then you are always well aware that your experience is not at all the reality of what it is for those kinds who know no other way of life.
Except the reporter in this video lied and again makes a stupid statement about Iron Dome. It doesn't stop everything just most things. It is needed because Hamas fires rockets all the time (not just in the last few weeks) at Israel with the intent of killing children and without it there would be many more Israeli deaths. Hamas in Gaza could have the same kind of security....they don't. Why? Because they building rockets instead of shelters. They are responsible for those children's injuries and deaths.
If you really want to rally the world community to stop it then end the Hamas rule of Gaza, end sending materials that get turned into weapons and stop lying about what is going on.
Hamas would have to go, the attacks would have to stop.
But Israel would have to recognize the humanity of the Palestinian people
, cease blockades
and other interventionist policies meant to disrupt Palestinian life and deprive them of essential resources, land, and liberty.
Only by both sides stopping their aggression can this conflict end...which is likely why this conflict would not end. Killing massive numbers of women and children, however, won't stop anything.
and when that happens the situation changes.
Just that? No. Israel would have to stop their aggression against the Palestinian people as well.
Only then can the solution be found. If Israel refuses to see and respect the humanity of the Palestinians, the cycle will continue.
It takes two to tango, both sides are guilty, both sides would have to grow up and do what's right for their People. If either side is really interested in peace, that is. I just doubt that.
Please be specific........because if the terror stops Israel's bombing stops.
I guess the only way you can ever not get numb to it is by being in it. That's the truth I've learned from being in a third world country, but who knows, we're all wired differently.
That's true for some i guess. I personally found it very difficult for a long time to settle back into any kind of "normality" when i came back home. It's difficult not to feel guilty sometimes at the life we are fortunate to lead which is so different to theirs. Now when i see and hear stories of the current situation there it is impossible to remain numb. Those kids are not just "consequences of war" and contrary to popular belief they are worth grieving over.
Blockades,
cutting the Palestinians off from resources,
occupation of their lands and dwellings, etc.
Essentially, Israel would need to recognize the rights and liberties of the Palestinian people and act accordingly.
If they went further and into reconstruction, it would go even further towards fighting the hate.
But it's embedded generationally on both sides, so it will take some time no matter what.
.But build roads and sewers and water plants and schools and hospitals, etc
That sort of action can lead to a quelling of hate and fear, and once people have something to lose they are less likely to engage in activities to lose it.
direct result of bombing.......
direct result of terror attacks. (if you are talking about security barrier)
explain further please
They have and offered statehood, guess what happened.
Reconstruction of what exactly?
Except only one side currently sees the others right to exist......guess who?
.
You know how many of those could have been built in Gaza with all the aid that flowed into there after the Israelis pulled out? What was that money spent on? Wanna try and guess?
So you want Israel to go back in to rebuild Gaza....after they pulled out leaving pretty decent infrastructure that was almost immediately destroyed by Hamas as Zionist infrastructure......but yeah that is the answer.

If you build the Palestinians a school they fill it with children and launch rockets from the roof. If you build them a hospital they fill it with the sick and injured then launch rockets from the roof. If you build them a park they launch rockets from the playground. The "innocents" don't fight back because if they do their children have bombs strapped to them and are sent through the tunnels.
The Palestinians are pawns of the Islamists. They are nothing more than a recruiting tool for crazies bent on jihad.
Yes, both sides need to stop, this is true. But to end a cycle of hate will require leaving the hate behind. Rebuilding can help sway the aggregate public's opinions and help a future peace to be realized.

Those blockades are in place not to cut Palestinians off from needed resources (which ARE allowed through btw), but to keep the outside arms from flowing in.
Just over the weekend Israel instituted a unilateral cease fire. They stopped operations while rockets continued to rain down on them. My sympathy for their plight is pretty minimal.
