The US has on one hand used its security forces to ensure that capital can cross borders, and in the other, to prohibit border crossing by labor. (What a surprise that a premier capitalist country acts this way!) Our job as a society is to figure out how to deal with this current problem. Trump tried his “migrants are rapists” fascist-like demonizing of these people. Why not try dealing with them per the laws and treaties that govern migration? It seems Biden might be sympathetic to this. What a radical concept! But that’s complicated. The Neanderthal approach: “Illegals bad. Me build wall. Mexico pay.” is so much simpler.

False. Guatemala’s coup and dictatorship was due to Sec of State John and CIA director Allan Dulles under GOP Ike in 1954. Chile 1973 came about with US help under republican Nixon, with Kissinger all but accepting responsibility. Reagan praised the butcher Rios Montt later on in Guatemala, who came to power when he was prez. Ronnie also supported death squads in El Salvador and the terrorists Contras in Nicaragua, and had kind things to say about the dictatorship in Argentina, which came to power under Ford, I believe. Not to say that democrats have clean hands in support of dictatorships, however.
