Eric Paddock, brother of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, spoke to reporters in a rambling, wide-ranging interview outside his home.
Stephen Paddock’s brother tells me he was “just a guy” who loved gambling, so he retired and moved to Nevada. He even won $250,000 grand at one point. However, Paddock went on to kill at least 50 and injure another 400 on Sunday fire on an outdoor country music festival. His family is left shock, as no one saw this coming
Bombard's Body Language......

Something must be pointed out about most if not all mass shootings...the target says much about the motivations of a shooter.
Whether it's resentment about being outcast amongst ones peers like the Columbine (and most other juvenile school shootings), or hatred for a group (like the Orlando night club, or the Los Angeles Jewish Community Center), the target is determined by a desire to act out on what one hates.
This was no random act of violence, picking a convenient target. The shooter planned in advance to attack the mass of persons attending a country western music festival.
He was meticulous in the planning, even to the point of making sure his current girlfriend was out of country and had funds to take care of herself.
IMO this means, as the narrator of the body language videos points out in the more recent analysis, this man was targeting the "Right-wing" of society, killing people for whom he developed some sort of resentment over what he perceived as "bad acts or bad intentions."
I am speculating here, but I believe as the investigation continues it is likely we will find that his politics were left-leaning (like the man who shot up the baseball field full of "right-wing" Congressmen) and this act had two motivations:
1. To attack the evil people who voted a monster into the White House.
2. To create an incident designed to push the Left's gun control agenda.
That's my current take on it. Time will tell. :coffeepap:

Since we are speculating, here is a link to a possible prior attempt with a different style/type of music?
REPORT: Las Vegas Shooter May Have Originally Targeted A Different Music Festival | Daily Wire

My speculation is he just wanted to kill as many people as possible. Shooting at a huge crowd from a high elevation with a rapid fire weapon would accomplish just that. I think if that crowd had been due to a rap concert or a huge magic show the shooting would still have happened.

I have several friends who are rather progressive who are also country music fans.
There is some country music that I like and have even purchased.
So I think this is a broad generalization that does not necessarily hold up as true across the board.

Las Vegas police and Clark County sheriffs were not able to confirm that the shooter was at Life is Beautiful, but a source close to the investigation told the Daily Wire that at least one casino in downtown Vegas has been asked to turn over surveillance footage showing Paddock playing at the casino at or near the time of the festival.
Given my short time here, I would have expected you to be a little less emotional in casting shade on “the left” with a fraction of the information that has so far been released! Normally you post in a higher bracket......

I have been thinking the same thing myself. I expect the motive to turn out to be political in nature. Im waiting for my suspicion to be confirmed but if it is i intend to ask everyone if this is enough to get people to tone their rhetoric down to civil levels.Something must be pointed out about most if not all mass shootings...the target says much about the motivations of a shooter.

Its an inaccurate sterotype is what it is. Kind of like thinking everyone in the south votes for the gop.I have several friends who are rather progressive who are also country music fans.

Yes, and there are all sorts of people who have eclectic tastes in music, myself included...that doesn't detract from the general social assumption that "red neck" and "country music" are usually tied together.
My speculation is he just wanted to kill as many people as possible. Shooting at a huge crowd from a high elevation with a rapid fire weapon would accomplish just that. I think if that crowd had been due to a rap concert or a huge magic show the shooting would still have happened.
Perhaps we all should stop trying to further those stereotypes then.
while i believe the OP's speculation is a stretch, it is as good a basis for the shooter's motivation as anything i have seen to date
if i had a mad on for the people i believed most responsible for electing tRump, identifying those who were country music fans would make sense ... to the degree killing innocent people ever makes sense
the election was rural vs urban, and rural won the contest. and country is the listening demographic for rural America
if some medical factor - such as it is believed CTE impacts the behavior of those who suffer from it - is ruled out, captain adverse's hypothesis is as good as any i've read
