What are the big issues?

1) Iraq.

2) The economy.

3) Health care.

4) Bank failures.

5) Government bailouts.

6) Corruption.

7) Iran.

8) A resurgent Russia.

9) Illegal immigration.

10) Chinese gaming of the markets.

These are just a few of the important issues that face us. Now what issues are candidates McCain and Obama bringing to the table, or what issues are the candidates' surrogates bringing to the table?

1) How many houses a candidate owns.

2) Is a candidate an Islamic terrorist?

3) Is a candidate a senile "Grandpa Jones"?

4) The expensive shoes that a candidate wears.

5) Is either candidate really an American citizen?

6) Britney Spears.

7) Which preacher is more indendiary? The one on the right, or the one on the left?

8) Which candidate is an "elitist"?

9) Is one of the candidates a Communist?

10) Is one of the candidates a hothead who will blow up the world?

I don't know. Is it me, or does anybody else see a problem here?

I agree fully. McCain and the RNC started this trend of going on non issues, and sadly it works. Now Obama has started somewhat to fight back, and I understand why he is doing it, but its hard to accept that politicians regardless of country would not stick to the issues. If McCain had done what he did and what Obama is doing now in Europe, they would never have gotten any where near getting voted in.

What you said has nothing to do with what dan typed, nice try. Obama has run so far on a campaign of "change", and that's pretty much it. Many of us have been calling him an empty suit and guess what, he will soon have the chance to prove us wrong. The issues will be debated very soon and Obama's luster might wear off just a wee bit. Maybe just enough to expose him for what he really is.

And to the highlighted part of your quote (I love it when you prove my point for me), this isn't ****ing Europe. It's different here in the US than in Europe, hence why you can't speak honestly about the issues here in the US, because you don't know and don't understand, just like I can't speak honestly about the issues in Spain, the UK or anywhere in Europe. I don't live there and I don't understand. The media only gives you a small portion of the real story. Rarely, if ever, do they cover all sides equally or with the same gusto towards each side.

But... but.... Dan.... they started it..... whah!!! whah!!! whah!!!!

I was wondering how long it would take for one to assert that position...

Well, then we can have a debate about whether McCain or Obama likes mud wrestling, jello wrestling, Roman Greco wrestling, or hell even WWE and then their qualifications to be President based on that, too...

It IS getting surreal around here, isn't it?
