The BBB allocates 170 billion dollars for I.C.E. (Kristy Noem)

Truth is we have no idea what the actually numbers are because we're not allowed to count them.
(y) Exactly.

It'll just cost whatever it'll cost. Best case scenario is if they self-deport.
Trump is deporting people that have been here for decades. I know you want to blame everything on Biden, but they'd been coming long before Biden.

Trump let this serial killer in.

He'll die in a Nevada prison. Trump can't have him now. Shoulda got him before he killed four people.

It's not Biden's fault.

One small point/question, when I worked in the field a person in removal proceedings *did* have the right to a lawyer “at no cost to the government.” Has that changed?
Apparently, yes. I've been trying to determine when that decision was made.

Bingo! This is a decades long problem both sides created. The majority of Americans do not want those working here with no criminal record deported and that is by far the vast majority of migrants. I see Trump has flipped and again is now supporting allowing migrants working in agra to stay......that is until quota numbers start to slip. Like everything else he does no plan just chaos! The waste and corruption in this budget will be legion.

Thanks to Biden and the Democrats there's 10-12 million illegals in the United States. The sheer number is the cost driver. We have to track them, capture them, hold them and deport them. Each one might take $10,000 to do the job right. That's a hundred billion right there. Costly... but somebody has to clean up the mess the Democrats created.
Ever notice how there is little money for social spending that helps people but a neat infinite amount of money to punish them?

Well, dont dispair, worry not. Because the B.B.B. fixed all the pesky money worries that she may have had by allocating 170 BILLION dollars to donalds immigration agenda.

Yes, its all out war against Brocolli pickers and your local busboys. And, in order to make sure I.C.E. doesnt runnout of funding, the B.B.B. came riding in with face masks and unmarked cars for all.
Now, I.C.E. Will have a bigger budget than most of the Worlds militaries.
God Bless America!!

Just think of all the cannibals they'll be able to deport.😎

'helping' them is the exact reason we have 10 to 12 million of them. We would have even more of them if Harris won the election.

What is so scary about it?

If we have millions of more able bodied workers in this country…. Tell me why I should be afraid of that?

You notice how little is allocated for IMMIGRATION JUDGES? Trump fired 25 within a month of taking office, and there are hundreds of vacancies already. "It takes over a year for these immigration judges to actually get into the job, get hired, get trained," said Matt Biggs, president of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, a union which represents immigration judges. "Most of these judges that were fired were ready to take the bench."

"There are about 700 immigration judges across the country's 71 immigration courts and adjudication centers. These judges are the only ones who can revoke someone's green card and issue a final order of removal for those who have been in the country for more than two years and are in the deportation process.

When someone is put in removal proceedings, they do not have the right to a lawyer, but they do have the right for someone to hear their case as to why they should not be removed. That can include asylum claims, or other measures to withhold or cancel deportation.

But immigration law experts warn that the system is already backed up. Judges review on average 500 to 600 cases a year. Still, there were 4 million pending cases in the last quarter of 2024, including nearly 1.5 million asylum cases. In fiscal year 2024, immigration courts issued only 666,177 initial case decisions."
Here's the thing about immigration judges: they don't work for the Judicial branch. They work for Trump. So alot or few, they all do Trump's bidding. Not sure having more judges doing Trump's dirty work is beneficial.

What exactly was the job of Biden's border Czar? Why did he even need one? How quickly we forget how our borders were overrun with illegals and cities like New York were struggling to support them. It's almost like you slept through Biden's term.

He didn’t have one.

Yeah. I was there.

There is a way to deal with the influx of people and a way not to deal with it.

Mayor Adams chose the least efficient and most expensive way because it paid off his political Allies because at the end of the day Adams is nothing more than a dirty cop.

I would rather my tax dollars go to helping desperate people get out of their situation than using a militarized police force to terrorize the citizenry and imprison tens of thousands of people into camps.

Both things cost money.

One of those things is antithetical to what we advertise to be as an idea of a nation.

Her job was to work with Central America and corporate America to improve conditions in CA so migrants did not feel compelled to leave. She was in fact quite successful . Migrant numbers from these countries dropped significantly. She was never in charge of the actual border .....and I just wasted 5 minutes explaining it yet again.

A way to deal with the border influx? There's no way we can support millions of opportunist from south and central America. And even after we take in millions there's millions more. It's not politics... its math and economics. Its great that the American people are compassionate but that itself doesn't solve problems. Biden's border disaster is one of the key reason Trump won the election. How quickly people forget!

Oh, I am quite aware, but they do help move the process along. They won't be, by the way, as the law also limits the number to 800 (a 12% increase), but they can't fill the spots anyway. It takes a year to train them, and they don't have enough applicants. Maybe by changing the qualifications to supplicants, they might pad their numbers...

The law's provisions prove they are not serious about immigration, but quite serious about suppression.

Democrats: A wall is too expensive and won't work anyway.

Trump and MAGA: Cool how about a completely systematic and nationwide approach for $170 billion

Democrats: Now we are even more outraged that you didn't stop with the wall.

Seriously Democrats, if you are going to bitch and declare you need a comprehensive approach while also complaining about a comprehensive approach then you are revealed for the concern trolls we all knew you were in the first place.

That's why the problems with Democrats and the electorate is never "messaging" because we all know what they stand for in the end. The problem for them is no one buys their gaslighting and we all know they want an open border and hoards of foreign invaders who they believe will give and keep them in power.

Not sure the bolded is a good thing when the "process" has been to quickly dismiss the cases so the immigrants can be rounded up immediately afterwards.

American people are compassionate but that itself doesn't solve problems.
Right now we are using a militarized police force to round up people who are peaceful and have been here for decades and placing them into camps. A lot of those people entered legally on asylum or TPS cases.

I don’t think that we can claim that we are a compassionate people.

The only comprehensive approach that the GOP has is a militarized police force and human misery.

Apparently, yes. I've been trying to determine when that decision was made.
Still looking to see if there is case law underlying this, but I got this from Vera. ("We develop just, equitable solutions so that money doesn’t determine freedom; fewer people are in jails, prisons, and immigration detention; and everyone in the system is treated with dignity.")

Immigrants Facing Deportation Do Not Have the Right to a Publicly Funded Attorney. Here's How to Change That.

"Immigrants facing deportation may hire an attorney, but they are not provided with one if they can’t afford it themselves. Although the Sixth Amendment guarantees counsel for the accused in all criminal prosecutions, those protections do not apply to immigrants facing deportation, which are considered civil proceedings. Because very few can afford to hire a lawyer, most immigrants face deportation proceedings alone and without any legal defense. But the consequences of a ruling from an immigration court—notably, family separation and exile from one’s home—can be more serious than many criminal sentences. Though immigrants may hire their own attorneys, many are held in detention facilities in locations where it is difficult to access counsel. There are other barriers to justice too: biased and unaccountable judges, prolonged detention without bond, and even summary deportation without any hearing."

Here's an irony, though. During his last term, Trump directed ICE to treat more undocumented immigrants (an important distinction) as criminals - requiring that they be given an attorney. Being "undocumented" does not equate to "illegal", the term bigots prefer. Many, perhaps most, of the targets of the current administration aren't even undocumented. See, e.g., Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Rümeysa Öztürk, Mahmoud Khalil - and hundreds of others, and hundreds of thousands that are being undocumented by executive fiat. Trump Administration Terminates CHNV Program, Impacting More Than a Half-Million Immigrants. Hell, they're now going after citizens.

Ah yes, the bigotry is always the source.

This is a case of: A little is OK, but a lot clearly is not. The influx from South and Central America overwhelmed the system. Many of them criminals and undesirable affecting the safety and well being of everyone. The only way to fix it is to throw everyone out and redo it. This is100% Democrat's fault and voters know it. Their message to the illegals was 'keep coming and we'll take care of you'. Well... I guess we did take care of you!

I'm a bigot because I state a factual truth? It's just history man. Not even cherry picked history.

There is no viable justification for this 170 billion allocation.

Russian entire military budget is only 13.5 trillion rubles (126 billion usd).

That means Kristy Noem now has more funding than all of Russias military.

There is not a drop of sanity in that allocation.
Citizens are paying for this with their Healthcare.
And you condone it?
And donalds brown nosed sycophants making excuses for donalds actions has got to be the most disturbing and sickening display of cultism I've ever seen.

She has to deal with a problem far larger than the Russian military.

It's hilarious to watch you all cry about hiring more immigration enforcement agents when you all believed the 87k IRS agents were needed just for billionaires.

The only comprehensive approach that the GOP has is a militarized police force and human misery.

Cry harder. We had your approach for four years and the misery created by it got Trump elected again.

The figure for this is less than given to Ukraine.
