The Heritage Foundation must be so giddy right now they cannot contain their glee. After trying for 40 years to get this plan through they finally did it. First thing on the list of "to Do's": fire thousands of civil servants across the entire Federal government and replace them with loyal Trump lackeys that will do whatever Trump's minions order them to do. Their first duty now is NOT to the Constitution, it's to Trump and whatever he demands.

"In October 2020, the Trump Administration issued an executive order that would have stripped protections from civil servants perceived as disloyal to the president and encouraged expressions of allegiance to the president when hiring. This effort is referred to as “Schedule F” because that was the name of the new employment category that the executive order created. The Trump official credited with the idea to create Schedule F estimated that it could apply to as many as 50,000 federal workers. The 50,000 figure “is probably a floor rather than a ceiling.”

So thousands of civil servants who are experts at their jobs get thrown out on the street if they refuse to take a loyalty oath to Trump. People with no knowledge of how to run the departments get put in their place if they are willing to swear fealty to Trump and all that he demands of them. That's just for starters. We're talking about the FCC, the FDA, the FAA, ATF, DEA, CDC, HHS--just about every Federal department that runs our lives manned by lots of people who won't know what in the hell they're doing. But they'll be loyal to Trump so that should give us some comfort.

They should be thrown out on their ass regardless of any loyalty oath. If Elon has the time, he's going to reduce the size of the fed government. There will be squealing and gnashing of teeth and it will be glorious.

What's the likelihood of Elon Musk cutting the funding that goes into his pocket?

First of all, Project 2025 is irrelevant. Trump doesn't care about it. He has his own agenda, thank you very much.

Second, regardless the nonsense from the Trump haters at "Protect Democracy", Schedule F has nothing to do with "loyalty to Trump". It has everything to do with federal employees doing their job and nothing BUT their job. They can leave their political preferences at home when they go to work or they can find other work.

This one is gonna sting.
But like Elon has said, it will be necessary to involve some temporary hardship, but it will ensure long-term prosperity.
Which, of course, is easy for him to say since he probably has a little bit o cash stashed away in a chock full o'nuts can in the back yard.

You seem down-right giddy.
Will you be so joy-filled when they run out of boogey men and come after you and yours?
Hope so.

My biggest fear is this. I am not against a reshaping of the federal government, but not to this extreme. It's a rather scary proposition.

So if Project 2025's agenda and what Trump's agenda says lines up … is that coincidence?

So here's where Trump's agenda and Project 2025's agenda line up -- except that Project 2025 stresses loyalty as being a key element. Since they both want to do the same thing, what is your take on that? And , further, if everything Trump wants to do is also in Project 2025 (and there are more than just this one), how should one interpret this? For example, the transgender ban in the military, the elimination of the Department of Education, and Schedule F -- key components of Trump's agenda are also in Project 2025.

I'm more curious about your opinion than I am trying to prove a point here. As he gets these things done, and as they are in both his agenda and Project 2025, how should we interpret that?

What's the likelihood of Elon Musk cutting the funding that goes into his pocket?
Zero. But for ordinary middle class citizens the sky's the limit.

Elon won’t factor into this topic because he’s not long for MAGA, but just doesn’t know it. He saw how autocrats around the world seem able to manipulate Donald to do their bidding and thought, “oh, I’ll just buy Donald too” but he made a critical mistake. He forgot to recognize that Donald adores autocrats, respects them, and seeks their endorsement… and Elon Musk is not an autocrat strongman of a nation state. To Trump, he’s just another dime-a-dozen businessman who is expected to be a submissive pet to Donald, follow his orders and sing only his praises.

It won’t be long before Elon steps out of line and asserts his own visions—and Donald will not tolerate any competition for vision or leadership and promptly denounce Musk as a woke UBI-loving liberal who hates America.

Poor guy won’t even see it coming…

Which matches Project 2025 100 different ways to Sunday.

The problem is when research based COVID-19 precautions are considered "political preferences."

Yeah, a little pocket change like $250,000,000,000 never hurt anybody.

Elon also had the "troll" fact dialed up to 11. To be honest, I wasn't really sure if this was some sort of unholy alliance or if he just did it because he knew people he disagreed with on X would hate him for doing it.

The Schadenfreude will be glorious.

Some things may line up...some don't.

Trump has his agenda for his own reasons. He has talked about his reasons. He's NOT following Project 2025.

Elon also had the "troll" fact dialed up to 11. To be honest, I wasn't really sure if this was some sort of unholy alliance or if he just did it because he knew people he disagreed with on X would hate him for doing it.
I think Musk has his own goals and ambitions and thought he could manipulate Trump into supporting them. He most likely will come to regret that belief when Trump stabs him the back for being a disloyal traitor.

So when they do line up, do I dismiss it as a coincidence, or…? That's kind of what I mean by "how to interpret it"

I suggest you just forget about Project 2025. Instead, look at what Trump says he wants to do and why he wants to do it.

It's no coincidence that rich people tend to turn into Big-L Libertarians. They got theirs and **** everyone else.

Isn't it time you admit you lied your ass off about election rigging?

Lib-prog tears are both delicious and nutritious.

I argue on Truth Social, and have suggested to some in The Organization, that we should go after the RINOs and wayward Libertarians first and foremost. Lock them up, feed them a starvation diet and have them construct a few score FEMA camps to house the illegals. The illegals will then be set to construct a few score more FEMA camps while being fed a starvation diet, and once they are gone, it will be time for the lib-progs.

And speaking of The Organization, I should announce that I will not be getting a job in the State Department, but it seems I am on the list to be a FEMA Camp Commandant. While disappointed at first, I then considered the opportunity to grift -- I can become a very rich man, so I am looking forward to my next job, and I won't be like the evil commandant from Schindler's List, but more the stern-yet-fair warden from the The Shawshank Redemption.

MAGA.

And then the other question would be, as you and others have argued, Project 2025 is something like a wishlist for religious nutjobs. Should be we at least be concerned that these nutjobs will likely be lobbying to get their piece/chapter/what have you of Project 2025 passed by Trump?

First of all, I've never argued that Project 2025 is "something like a wishlist for religious nutjobs". In fact, I don't think I've ever spoken in favor or against the thing. I've simply taken Trump at his word that he's not interested in it.

Should be we at least be concerned that these nutjobs will likely be lobbying to get their piece/chapter/what have you of Project 2025 passed by Trump?
You can be concerned about whatever you want, but be aware that, while Trump will listen to a lot of people, he makes up his own mind. Trump has his agenda and that's what he'll be focused on.

I apologize for thinking you said that. There's someone else on the site who has, so I figured you might have made the same argument. Apologies.

A sensible answer :)

This will be like killing the filibuster.

Each new President will just come in and clean house.
