The 2009 Season looks to be an exciting one. Tom Brady will be back for the Patriots, Mark Sanchez is playing for the Jets, Terrell Owens is in Buffalo, and now that everyone has pretty much gotten used to the Dolphins Wildcat formation, it's questionable whether nor not they'll put up as much of a fight.

The Indianapolis Colts will have, what seems like, a life long assistant coach running the show for the first time in his life. The Texans are improved. The Titans won 13 games last season. The Jags are in decline. But at least they aren't the AFC West, which is, has been, and appears likely to remain in the decline.

What are your favorite NFL stories this year? There are still rumors circulating that Brett Favre could end up in Minnesota. Mike Vick is looking for a way back into the NFL. The Detroit Lions would like to win at the pro level.

Any way-too-early playoff predictions?

If Cutler and a couple of new additions can produce as starters, the Bears can certainly vie for the NFC Central title.

Out of the NFC, I expect the contenders for a playoff spot to be(in order):
NY Giants
Carolina Panthers
Arizona Cardinals
Chicago Bears
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Philadelphia Eagles
Green Bay Packers

Out of the AFC I expect the contenders for a playoff spot to be(in order):
Indianapolis Colts
New England Patriots
Pittsburg Steelers
Baltimore Ravens
Tennesse Titans
San Diego Chargers(somebody has to win the west)
Miami Dolphins
Buffalo Bills

Obviously the last two teams on the lists are who I feel is least likely of the group to get in, but they are teams that can get to the playoffs, if the ones in front of them falter or struggle.

As far as contenders go...

I'd half to say, in the AFC:

1. New England Patriots
2. Baltimore Ravens
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
4. New York Jets
5. Indianapolis Colts
6. Tennessee Titans
7. San Diego Chargers
8. Houston Texans/Buffalo Bills (Go Bills!)

In the NFC:

1. Philadelphia Eagles
2. Atlanta Falcons
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Seattle Seahawks
5. Washington Redskins
6. New Orleans Saints
7. Green Bay Packers
8. Dallas Cowboys/Carolina Panthers/Chicago Bears

I think its going to be Green Bay and Minnesota coming out this year. But Chicago I think has a chance at long term domination of their division.

I missed the Falcons. They should have a good shot as well. I'd put them 2nd or third in my list.
