Yes, that was a change, but that is not what the DoL was stating in their tweet. They claimed that Pell Grants are now open for trade school education, and that has always been the case. Now, Pell Grants can be used for shorter term programs that weren't eligible before. But that is too complicated to explain in a tweet, so DoL went the lazy and lying route instead.

Agreed, but to assert that has always been the case (the OBBB made no changes) is dishonest.

Actually, no. I was strictly basing my OP on their tweet, which is to claim that now Pell Grants can be used for trade school because of the OBBB. That is a lie.

Trump U meets Trump trade school for the uneducated



Alberta has a few real trade schools, welders millwrights etc will be in 4 year programs with a mix of school and actual work experience, moving up from apprenticeship to journeymen at the end

At the end the person will be fully trained, and have worked during the process.

Not a tiny school with one welder showing people what to do to get a certificate but no real experience or knowledge

That would have been accurate, because you still have to attend an accredited school to be considered for the Pell Grant.
