Texas to allow guns in schools and churches.. LONG overdue!

More guns, wtf could go wrong?

Oddly enough that's the one thing missing from all of these mass shootings. Citizens shooting back at the shooter. Where are all these he men who spout stuff like you are doing now? My guess, if citizens started pulling out guns at the scene of a mass shooting, more citizens will be killed by the cops. Does one really think in that scene a cop saw you with a gun he or she wouldn't think you are the shooter?

The Dayton shooter was taken down in what, 30 seconds? He still killed 9 and injured 27 or something like that.
Guns aren't the answer, it's part of the problem.

Well, maybe one of these gun owners will shoot and stop a mass shooter.

You'll just have to take your pistol with roughly 13 rounds and go up against a man carrying a rifle with 30 rounds. Maybe if you're lucky, you can hit him at 30 feet away. For him, with his rifle, 60 feet is an easy shot. You want to live, he's suicidal.

Yup, or overreacts to a perceived threat or is a bit jumpy, or doesn't secure the gun and a kid gets a hold of it

Like those many stories of gun owning ******s who have shot people simply knocking on their doors

Yup, in the El Paso, there was a military guy who was armed and was helping people and the cops nearly shot him. Or what about the Dayton shooter, cops took him out in about 30 seconds and he still managed to kill 9 people in that time. What the hell do they expect untrained civilians who don't have to follow any procedures is going to do? Probably lead to a hell of a lot more killed

In the event someone shows up with a weapon there would be someone there with the potential to stop them.

Seems to work well in Utah.

Because he happened to stage his attack at a location full of armed cops on site. At a school, WalMart, Post Office or office building this usually isn't the case. It takes 4-7 minuter to get cops to respond, thats a lot of time to shoot. Get armed security and that helps. If it isn't important lets do away with the Capital Police.

Or one woman with a gun prevented the possible death of over 300 people.

Jeanne Assam was a volunteer security officer at New Life Church in Colorado Springs in 2007 when a gunman walked in and opened fire.

According to investigators, the gunman had more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition on him.

Five people died in the shootout, including the gunman, who was killed by Assam.

"You cannot wait for SWAT when there’s an active killer. You have to go in and take care of business immediately," she said.

But that article is wrong. The other four people who died didn't die in the shootout. The killer killed them in the parking lot and at another location. It was when he entered the church that he ran into Assam...and she ended it for him.
 
If I'm packin the shooter might get one or two shots off.. The theory is that Mass shooting will not be a thing. Sure, shootings will continue but a lot less innocents will lose their lives. Stopping short of the 2A, what else serves as a deterrent?

I'm open to ideas!

Looks like more guns does not equal more safe. in fact, it looks like fact match up with commoon sense,t hat the more guns one has, the more gun related deaths their will be.

Not this dumb lie that more guns equal more safe. Stats dont' support that. Not when looking at not only states, but country. US most guns, most gun related deaths, not less

cue the dismissal of the chart with a side of deflections. i haven't been heavily involved in the gun debate, but i rarely even bother to post charts in the health care threads anymore. those who are willing to objectively consider data / charts did so years ago.
