Because putting people in cells where the heat is above 100 degrees is cruel and unusual punishment. The reich-wing government of Texas has no respect for the constitution or the rule of law, so it's not a surprise they could care less about state-sponsored murder.why ?
they did crimes, they need to do the time they were sentenced and hopefully never do crime again - prison is supposed to be tough, hard, and some place you never want to go back to
Yeah? My dad is an electrician and worked outside in the heat in the Las Vegas, NV. My grandfather was farmer who worked his fields in the summer heat.my Dad was 5' in a ditch laying sewer pipes and shoveling dirt in 1980 ..... my granddad plowed fields with a mule in 1936
They were not confined to a small cement room without access to water. The reich-wing gestapo that runs Texas has never been big on following the constitution or protecting those they incarcerate.they lived - I don't know why a prisoner is more deserving of AC than the men who worked hard over the last 200 years
I'm betting is prisoners DID die of heat related they were fat, obese, out of shape, already sick people ..... again, no ... I have compassion for unborn babies, innocent people who've done the right things in life .... way more compassion there than from career criminals, murderers, rapists etc
you THINK
you do not know - you have your opinion, but that's all it is
Trump won't see the inside of a jail cell ever.
SO your statement is a non sequitur.
why ?

which that have not in many years according to Texas
I disagreeBecause putting people in cells where the heat is above 100 degrees is cruel and unusual punishment. The reich-wing government of Texas has no respect for the constitution or the rule of law, so it's not a surprise they could care less about state-sponsored murder.
why isn't that cruel and unusual ?Yeah? My dad is an electrician and worked outside in the heat in the Las Vegas, NV. My grandfather was farmer who worked his fields in the summer heat.
allegedlyThey were not confined to a small cement room without access to water. The reich-wing gestapo that runs Texas has never been big on following the constitution or protecting those they incarcerate.
Human rights must be respected.
This is irrelevant. They should never have been subject to this kind of torture in the first place.
It's Texas. The deaths have been confirmed.
Your denial does not change the fact that Texas has repeatedly violated just about every section of the constitution and continues to do so.
Stop defending cruel and unusual punishment.
I know that this is hard to believe but way back in the olden days there was no air conditioning and people survived. To say the inmates are being "cooked alive" is just plain stupid.
Looks kind of draconian to be honest.
I'm sure some of them are innocent also...like Michael Morton.
Also...who is going to want to work in these kind of conditions?
"according to Texas"
why isn't that cruel and unusual ?
Wait.
You dad was in prison when he was doing all this as a punishment for his crimes?
or are you trying to conflate two very different things because the distinction is too fine for you to grasp?
or something else?
Back in the olden days they used to forcibly lobotomize and sterilize people, too.I know that this is hard to believe but way back in the olden days there was no air conditioning and people survived. To say the inmates are being "cooked alive" is just plain stupid.
-edit-
Wait, this was from 2023? Whatever, it's still just stupid.
did you not read the posts maybe ?
it seems 100 degrees kills .... inhumane and cruel for anyone to be in that kind of heat .......
look it, donate $50,000 to Texas prison's if ya'll are so worried about them ... maybe that'll help
fact is, we have a LOT of criminals in the USA and the cost is enormous and some prison's don't have AC and they're not fun places to be
read that again - prison's aren't fun places to be
Not everyone who is convicted is guilty of a crime. Our incompetent & corrupt lawfare system only sends guilty people to prison.
So, we can give up worrying about potential heatstroke being a cruel punishment.
EVERYONE CONVICTED IS GUILTY AF, right?
Well, you've changed my mind. Air conditioning is a human right and government should make sure that every resident of the nation, whether here legally or not, has air conditioning. In fact, all of outdoors should also be air conditioned so that those without homes are protected as well.Back in the olden days they used to forcibly lobotomize and sterilize people, too.
Perhaps, saying, "This is how we have been doing things," is actually lame reason to keep doing things the same way?
Can you point out The Olden Days on this graph of historical August temps in the DFW area?

Oh Yeah, I had to mow my lawn in 100-degree heat last week.Because putting people in cells where the heat is above 100 degrees is cruel and unusual punishment. No one campaigned for me to receive a donated riding mower with an air-conditioned cab over me. I'd like to come to this site to get sympathy for my plight but too many Progressive/Liberals here do not care for my suffering.
All wrong. Again. It is a state's responsibility not to have their prisoners die of heat exhaustion, which you support.
Well, you've changed my mind. Air conditioning is a human right and government should make sure that every resident of the nation, whether here legally or not, has air conditioning. In fact, all of outdoors should also be air conditioned so that those without homes are protected as well.
Most states actually, as I have already noted."according to Texas"
again, I'd bet if any died they were already sick, obese, compromised .... the heat of 100 degree days isn't killers
if it were, nobody would have lived through the 1700's and 1800's summers in the USA before AC
Most states actually, as I have already noted.
Not everyone who is convicted is guilty of a crime.
Especially not guilty of a trumped-up misdemeanor of paying off a porn star.
I do not worry about prisoners without AC.
What I worry about is President Joe Biden sleeping on a beach while Kamala pretends to be president.
