Well here we are.

Do they feel better now after their publicity stunt?

What a ridiculous display that they were foolish enough to think had any vaule.

I like the fact they locked the doors on these misfits

========================

"The state Democrats announced that they would return after California Democrats moved forward with plans to redraw their congressional map to counter any GOP gains in Texas.

On Aug. 15, Gov. Greg Abbott called a second special session as the first one ended.

Delinquent House Democrats ran away from their responsibility to pass crucial legislation to benefit the lives of Texans,” Abbott said in a statement.

We will not back down from this fight. That’s why I am calling them back today to finish the job.

When the Texas House convened on Aug. 18, Speaker Dustin Burrows announced a quorum and subsequently ordered the House chamber doors locked, an action permitted under House rules.

Burrows scheduled the House to reconvene on Aug. 20, when a vote on a redrawn congressional map could take place, potentially adding five Republican seats in the next election.

Democrats, who showed up on Aug. 18 but face arrest warrants that were issued for fleeing the state, were released from the chamber in the custody of Department of Public Safety officers responsible for their return.

“We have a quorum. Now is the time for action. We will move quickly,” Burrows said."

They had to sign permission slips for the brown shirts to follow them around before they could leave the chamber.

Good. They deserve to be treated like little children after their recent temper tantrum.

They wanted to publicize the republican's scandalous redistricting. They succeeded admirably.

Well, now that CA is set to offset whatever TX does, they’re able to go back.

Your play Texas.
CA was not likely to go red anytime soon and the move there is really a nothing burger

Yet in Texas the hope is to not have the complete state go Austin light.

It seems that my congressional district will now have all of Hays County and none of Austin or San Antonio in it. I will no longer be represented by Greg Casar (a ‘squad’ member).

In the new map, District 35 no longer stretches from Austin to San Antonio, but instead from Guadalupe County down to San Antonio and east of Interstate 35.
That district is currently represented by Congressman Greg Casar (D-Austin), but under the proposed map, he would have to face off with long-time Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin), who represents the current District 37.
King called the current District 35 "one of the most oddly drawn district drawing districts in the country."
King says District 35 on the proposed map is more clearly structured and pulls together communities of similar interest.
“You see the large rural counties, and you also see a larger population base in the more suburban areas and less developed areas of Bexar County,” King said. “They're going to be more aligned from a community standpoint than they would if you had picked inner city San Antonio, and I think it's a very good district.”

So now states will engage in gerrymandering contests.

Nothing like a race to the bottom….
