Texans can now openly carry guns in public without a permit or training

That doesn't say it must be regulated. It then says "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." How can that possible be misconstrued?
mainly because those who have hated pro gun activists ever since we started voting against Democrats (who pretended that by passing gun control laws, they were DOING SOMETHING about violent crime), need to pretend the second amendment doesn't prevent their scummy schemes.

"One sarsaparilla and be quick about it"
You won’t have to wait the additional two hours on Sunday either; A new bill signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in May will loosen alcohol restrictions on Sunday mornings. Under House Bill 1518, retailers like grocery and convenience stores will be permitted to sell beer and wine starting at 10 a.m. instead of noon on Sundays, effective Sept. 1.

Talk about “bust a move!”

;)
I was once tasked with defending two DEA special agents-though they didn't have any ADs. The two went to a chain restaurant store (I believe it was an Applebys but it could have been a TGIF) and the waiter saw one guy was packing under his suit jacket. The local police were called and the agent was cited to court for carrying in a bar (this was before Ohio changed the law). I lived in that town and I called up the chief of police. I noted that his police officer violated the same law and I was going to direct a citation be issued. The Chief protested and said the police officer was on duty and that was an exception to the law. I agreed and I had the DEA's Resident Agent in Charge on the line and he said so were the two agents. The charges were dismissed because DEA special agents are essentially always on duty even when having lunch. Of course they were not drinking since they had to return to real work after that.

makes sense-blue laws should be stricken as violating the first amendment. I was a strident advocate to remove the Ohio ban on hunting on Sunday since it was prejudicial to Jews and Christians whose sabbath is saturday.

Many years ago, I took the train from DC to San Francisco. We travelled the southern route and I took up my position in the club car. On the second or third day I was advised that alcohol sales would be suspended while the train traversed Mississippi, as it was blue state. “Get all that you think you will need and here’s the ice bucket.” Stupid laws.

Police say the new law makes it harder to do their jobs

I guess guns are less dangerous than cars.

They are less dangerous than cars. A LOT less dangerous.

All males 17-44 are already in the militia. See 10 USC 246.

How old are you?

What part of that says that "the People" are limited to those of a certain age?

I'm referring to the training and permit issue. But, you know that.

Other states allow open carry without a permit or training, and have for a long time.

and the number of problems from this is very rare

many rights don't vest until a certain age.

I'm only talking about who federal law says is the militia. The militia is a subset of the People.

What federal laws says about the militia is irrelevant to what rights we have under the Constitution.

Why are they so afraid?

Not so much:

The Constitution granted Congress the power to organize, arm and discipline the militia in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 16. Congress, using this authority, has passed five Militia Acts since ratification of the Bill of Rights to regulate the militia. Current law on militia regulation is 10 USC 246.

U.S. Code § 246.Militia: composition and classes

(a)The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b)The classes of the militia are—
(1)the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2)the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

The current federal law, 10 USC 246, is derived directly from the power granted the federal government by the Constitution.

They ought to at least regulate how many paces are required for duels outside of bars.
Duels are not legal. I wish they were though.

That has nothing to do with our RIGHTS under the Constitution, and I'm sure Planar was not talking about that.

I didn't respond to Planar with my initial response about the militia. I responded to loulit.

Open carry will make abortion “bounty hunting” more interesting.

Not me. I have enough risk of being randomly shot as it is. I don't need a new one.

Who was responding to Planar. Context matters.
