Tesla Pi Phone: Release Date, Specifications, and Price

I am assuming that "designed by Elon" means he had input on the aesthetics of it.

Not that he designed the hardware and software.

That aside, the article communicates that the phone simultaneously exists and doesn't exist. Not that I would buy his phone, it's just a strangely written article.

There isn't a GA version of starlink today for mobile with the EXISTING antenna design... Now imagine shrinking that down to a cell phone...

This means he has to have carrier agreements...

Correction: Starlink Mobile in now available...$135/mo with a one-time cost of $599 for portable hardware or $2,500 for in-motion hardware... LMAO... (That's still using the same size dish as before..)

I've only just got my first smartphone a year ago (Samsung S20 FE) and I still don't see what all the fuss is about.
Yeah, I use it but no more than my kindle oasis which I use to read The Times.

Rumors have been hovering about this due to Twitter politics. But I think eventually he would do this anyway as Starlink expanses globally. So politics aside, what do you think this would do to the cell phone market?
What would Starlink expansion have to do with it? You can’t use Starlink for cellphone service.

Because it worked out so well when Microsoft, Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung, and many others tried to do it.

It is meant for RVs and things like that.

Well, yeah… given the size of the dish..
One of the YouTubers I follow got it for his RV and he says it doesn’t work that well. Also heard mixed reviews of the regular service, my uncle got it and he said it really depends on the day, it can be basically dialup some days or kind of okay at best.

is this him attempting to 'get' apple for pulling most of its advertising out of twitter?
No.

This is about Apple threats to remove Twitter from their app store.

No.

Apple did no such thing. It is nothing but pure speculation by Musk right after he tweeted complaining about Apple exercising its free speech by removing its ads from Twitter.

No.

that is one reason why space karen wants to aggravate apple
my understanding was apple will not allow its transaction platform to be used by musk

This looks like a fairy tale. The person who wrote this article obviously has no idea what he's talking about.

.It all depends on the app store and apps it has.

No apps no chance
There's that an a whole bunch of unanswered questions about its ecosystem, OS, and uses a concept video with no other detailed info. The article also claims it will be released next month/Jan 2023 with no marketing whatsoever; that makes no kind of sense. Then there's the rather daft premise that Musk will build a phone if Twitter gets removed from other app stores. That hardly sounds like sound rationale for getting into the mobile phone industry.

I can guarantee Elon will develop a phone before Apple completes its Apple Car project.

Musk is an innovator. Tim Cooke hasn't innovated crap at Apple.
