While Liberals are going to remove God and Christianity from America, what is wrong if some Tea Party members have respect to Founders and a little bit correct their image?
Many helped us win independence from Britain, putting their lives in danger in order for this country to exist. I'd say that qualifies them.
is there a point in your post?Name ONE black person that signed the Declaration of Independence.
FORCED to work for free on GW's Virginia plantation doesn't really count as supporting a cause...
Them??? Name them. Do they have names?

You have to use that little green arrow after the user name in the quote to link backward.
You'll get the full gist of the conversation I'm having(attempting to) with Mellie.
I doubt she'll post a reply. Anything but "You're right, I was wrong"... would be dishonest at this point.

She kinda disappeared last night after I showed that twice as many blacks fought for the British.
I bet the fact that twice as many blacks fought for the British would get overlooked for fear of smearing the founders image.
Huh? How does the fact that more blacks fought for the British negate the fact that there were black "founders" who helped found this country? I'm a fan of telling the full story, not leaving things out for political reasons.

Well as a populace I think it does indicate the majority saw more value in defending the Crown. That really doesn't look to good for the Founding Fathers IMO. And in regards to this law I think this fact would qualify for scrubbing.
What law? ...

Name one. Name a Black signer/contributor to a founding document.

What the hell is wrong with you? The question has been answered.
The one the TPers are proposing in the aritcle from the OP.
Forgive me, please repeat the specific name you game of a black Founding Father.
First name first, if you please.
That is one of the most racist and ignorant articles I've ever read.
The first two so-called 'black-Founders' were both slaves.
Founder. Founding father. Someone who was directly involved in shaping forming our country's FOUNDING / DOCUMENTS and principles.
That does not include those men who were considered property of Founders.
I'm sorry, but it sounds to me like the tea party wants the whole truth told.
They're tired of kids being taught that the Founders were nothing but a bunch of racists.
I was taught that the 3/5 Compromise was put in the Constitution because white people didn't think blacks were fully human. Do you understand how twisted that is to teach a child that? It's twisting history for an agenda.
This has been discussed ad nauseum when he talked about the 3/5 compromise. I'll link you up...

Good Lord. Just forget it. Remain ignorant if you so choose.

I think the argument that there are black founders just floundered.

That's a completely different issue and nothing to do with the why the words all men are created equal were included.
No, it didn't.
I find it very interesting that some people are refusing to give black people who helped found this country any credit. It's almost as though you think they were all puppets and just "helped" because they had to. It's almost as though you think all black people hated white people back then and vice versa. It's almost as though you think all the white founders were racist. Weird....
A partner conversation to this could be the "Civil Rights Era" which didn't start in the 1960s, but most people think it did.
