I'm not shocked at all considering the GOP continually attacks libertarians attempts to get on a ballot (by challenging their/our petition sigs) and the GOP always seem to get a GOP judge that sides GOP. Of course the GOP only does it because they're scared libertarians will steal votes from the GOP during the nomination process and in the general elections...
IMO, the judge in this case just had a mental break and had no desire to hear any of it and made a crazy ruling just because he could.....
A good way to start would be to drop the whole "Justice for life" aspect of the SCOTUS position and subject the positions to democracy...
I suppose if they're going to be appointed Justices then we should have an even number and not an odd number - like a jury...
There should be no appointed positions in government because that just allows our government to become ripe with tyranny...
Without question....
That's why I have a problem with the SCOTUS considering they're the last stop on the legal railroad and are far from being immune of bias for political reasons...
I thought of the same, but then I thought of the gridlock like Congress.
Gridlock is what's needed...
If two sides cant agree then the issue should have no result...
It's a lot better than letting 9 clowns dictate civil liberties and the direction our society goes....
I thought of the same, but then I thought of the gridlock like Congress.
Amen to that. I still can't believe the GOP defends Alito and Thomas attending the Koch conferences in 2009, advising them on all the 10th amendment changes we've seen since. Talk about conflict of interest when your wife works directly for GOP causes. I'm sure there are plenty of Dem examples.
Perhaps you're right.
How do you explain that the VRA passed 97-0 last time and now can't get a vote? Obama seems to have adopted more GOP positions than Dem, especially on ACA. Rahm has attacked public unions in Chicago, just like C. Christie. Christie/NOOT 2016
I don't believe either major political party is interested in such a notion tho...
Both want SCOTUS padded with their own...

Please, we have problems with our federal budget and everything other serious problem that our government has to confront.
Unions should either a) be abolished or b) every state should be a "right to work" state. Let the individual choose weather to join a union or not..
At minimum individuals should have the choice.....
As far as I'm concerned labor unions have a monopoly on industries....
It took four years for me to get over $10,000 as a chem/physics teacher in the late 1970's. I averaged about 70-80 hours a week for the 40 weeks. We watched golden parachutes for admins for decades. Without the union, non-union workers wouldn't have their goodies either across the economy.
Individuals should have the right to have the option....
Unions are nothing more than a racket....
Lets also not forget that teachers have an extended vacation in the summer - something individuals in other professions just don't get....
It's no ones fault but your own for your pay-grade (of course if you're still teaching you're making $100,000+ today without question) - not to mention $10,000 went a lot further in the 70's than it does today.
Of course when you start a job you have to work your way from the bottom up - it takes time to make those "big bucks" - usually companies, or I suppose in your case school districts wanted results - not demands...
As far as I'm concerned any teacher that is motivated by the money has no business teaching.
It seems to me that the defricit is coming down. I'm sure we'll have plenty of immediate revision on this. I've been supporting Sen. Coburn's back-in-black plan since he published it in July of 2011.
Only teachers in the rich Repup suburbs get $100,000, with those BOEs majorly responsible for the pension debt. I don't consider what T. Roosevelt did in stopping 9-YO miners with missing fingers and toes a "racket". Teachers are now being given assignments over summer. I'm glad I'm retired from your noise.
Maybe those in the "rich repub" districts produce results?
IMO, the teachers in poorer communities focus on "social justice" while the teachers in middle class and rich districts actually teach.
Your average 7th grade student in my school district is more educated than the 12th grader in poor districts in Chicago.
Also, if it matters - the "rich" (not middle class) districts are predominately democrat (at least where I live).
The 6 collar counties have always been heavily Red. Try looking at the "95 poor conservative" downstate counties where teachers gut it out for one-third the "rich repup suburb" pay and quit playing the divisive chicago card. We know where that's going.
90% of the rural US will be red...... It's the cities that are blue.
I'm not familiar with that plan.
if this is true, based on the info i read this judge is mentally insane and retarded
which doesn't address the point I made--Are you willing to ignore your fellow Libertarian/TEAfolks out here in LaSalle county who make Half of the rich repup suburb teachers though their BOEs do not pay their fair share of the TRS public pension?
I didn't think it was legal ... I have a half dozen cousins and friends named Jesus ... Should I warn them?
