Ted Cruz Calls For Dr. Anthony Fauci’s Arrest For ‘Lying Under Oath’ About Covid-19

Senator Cruz.
Would like you to present the 100% proof that Dr. Fauci lied to Congress regarding the source of the covid outbreak. It seems Dr. Fauci along with many others do not agree that it came from a lab leak. Neither theory has been proven with 100% confidence.

Would like to discuss your record of things you have said to the public which turned out not to be true. Why are you lying to the public?

In the end WHO CARES where it originated, it came! and it stayed! And instead of taking it seriously, the orange skidmark said it "will just disappear". But it didn't. And it killed over 1 million people. So lets blame a doctor who has dedicated 50 years of his life to stopping the spread of infectious diseases; that's beyond stupid. And the blob fish Cruz is a crack pot who's done what exactly for this country? He's another wanna-be-relevant just like Jordan.

I certainly wouldn't suggest that the virus's origin isn't important, but the way it's discussed here really is just a "Han shot first" debate.

I didn't say it wasn't important, but knowing where it started will do what? Bring back all of the lives lost? NO this is the extreme right needing to blame someone. A cheap way of avoiding the real problem; Trump's denial of it's existence followed up by his wacky response to it.

I wasn't implying that you didn't think it was important, but there really are two debates going on concurrently: the scientific, and the....not...scientific. The ones that go on between right and left on debate forums are typically the latter kind in the sense that what's hanging in the balance in these discussions is something that isn't scientific at all. These debates, here, are about whether or not Trump was right.

And I've always been perfectly open to a lab leak theory, but I've just not seen the evidence for it. And even if it does ultimately turn out to be a lab leak, that's hardly exculpatory. Just as cherry-picked footage of Chansely wandering around the Capitol peacefully doesn't negate his crimes, a confirmation of a lab leak has literally zero bearing on Trump's atrocious mishandling of the pandemic.

You said it way better than I did. Thank you!

Cruz should be arrested for sneaking off to Cancun.
Someone must have told him that some cons don't like Fauci and he is using this to get in the news.
That's all.

Wow, the first ad hom was in Post #2. I'd like to discuss whether there is merit in what Senator Cruz says. I have always believed that the pandemic began in a Wuhan lab and never gave credence to what Fauci said. But was he merely mistaken, or did he lie under oath? Are criminal charges justified? Why?
They still don't know/can say for sure.

Here is the problem you're facing with Mr. Cruz. While he's not the topic of the OP, every time he opens his mouth, it's either on Fox News, The Steve Bannon BS podcast, or some ranting, loud temper tantrum he spews in a senate hearing.

So, IMO, Ted Cruz has zero credibility. So that's where we have to start.
Yes!

Big waste of time, it is unlikely we will ever know for sure where Covid came from... lab leak or some asshole eating a bat. Anything coming out of China on this matter cannot be trusted no matter what we may *think* happened. Regardless, politics has now made this issue an epic mess.

Enter stage right, Ted Cruz calling for an arrest. Other than hatred, based on what?

Except the bottom line is no one is certain of the virus' origin, so believing doesn't really help much in terms of establishing certainty. Even the most recent findings in the DoE report, it's clear there's no consensus. To then make claims about someone's criminality based on inconclusive evidence doesn't make much sense. The important thing to note here is Sen. Cruz opines that Dr. Fauci should be facing criminal charges, but it's in the action not the rhetoric that the weight lies. He made these comments at a political event, and that no charges have come close to being brought on those grounds makes it apparent it' just said for effect.

If Sen. Cruz feels Dr. Fauci lied to Congress, then he could have taken action shortly thereafter or now. I'm also surprised that his concern about people lying about the pandemic doesn't extend to the former president, who lied to the American public about the severity of the disease; something he clearly knew in early February based on the records Woodard released.

These kind of things are good to know, because it provides insights into the causes of diseases and how they are transmitted. Knowing for just the sake of having someone to blame doesn't make much sense, because many of the reasons are due to humanity's encroachment into more desolate areas and being exposed to new diseases that previously infected only local fauna.

Man, we wouldn't have to look far into my Fauci threads to find I have drawn the same conclusion. Only it was over a year ago.

Fauci needs held accountable and prosecuted to the full extent of the law

=================================

Sen. Ted Cruz(R-Texas) said that the former chief medical adviser to the president, Dr. Anthony Fauci, should face criminal charges for “lying under oath” to Congress about the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cruz made his arguments at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland. “There has been no person who has done more to destroy trust in the scientific and medical community than Dr. Anthony Fauci who told millions of Americans lies willingly, knowingly, glibly, supremely arrogantly,” Cruz said.

Cruz’s arguments came just days after the Department of Energy (DOE) concluded with “low confidence” that Covid-19 most likely came from a lab in Wuhan, China. On Tuesday FBI Director Christopher Wray reiterated that his agency agreed with the Department of Energy’s conclusion, albeit still with “low confidence.”

Other intelligence agencies are either undecided or believe that the previously accepted story, that Covid-19 came from human to animal transmission, is most likely.

In April 2020, Fauci did claim that the “lab leak” theory was “a shiny object that will go away soon.” He later claimed that it was “molecularly impossible” that the viruses being worked on in the Wuhan lab could have evolved into the pathogen that led to the pandemic. When grilled by Republicans in Congress over “lab leak theory,” Fauci said that their language had “a distinct anti-science flavor.”

When confronted last week with the DOE’s decision to identify “lab leak” as the most probable Covid-19 origin story, however, Fauci urged Americans to keep “an open mind” and that “we may never know” the pandemic’s origin.

While the DOE surely embarrassed Fauci, there is no proof as of now that he had any prior knowledge of any evidence supporting the theory that Covid-19 originated from a lab.

**** Cancun Ted.

Ted "flee to Mexico" is a tool

What does make sense is what you said--making claims about criminality based on inconclusive evidence isn't enough.

Yep, and the fact no one's brought charges against Fauci in the areas some claim there should be, is an indicator of how that's not an easy thing to do. Ted Cruz saying this at CPAC to get the crowd going isn't convincing.

If that was his only intention, I agree. I decided several months ago that I wasn't going to pay much attention any more to politics--I mean, a pox on ALL their houses. Bah. Expecting sincerity and a real desire to serve is asking too much of politicians.

i feel sorry for Republicans who have integrity. or depend on SS. or needed the best info available during COVID. or have kids with massive school debt. or work paycheck to paycheck.

:ROFLMAO:

It is a bit of a mess, isn't it? The way I manage following politics is not being personally attached to it, because often it's easy to identify with politics as part of one's persona, and that's where it gets tricky. I view it as a means to an end; something I wish we'd have less of because we'd be better served with a more practical approach. However, negotiating and politicking is how things tend to get done. We just need to reconnect to the common purpose of getting things done.

I’ll help you with this. No, there is no merit to what Ted Cruz says. He only says them to boost his political profile with his nutter supporters. What you have always believed doesn’t make it so.
