Take a look at the effect of Trump's tariff folly on a list of consumer's receipts posted online

just went to local Kroger today

$1.29 milk
$1.77 pork butt
$3.99 # cherries (my GF loves them)
$0.79 mangos
$0.79 avacados
$3.99 blueberries ....

I've seen no price increases, gas was $2.64 this morning

Remember, Dear Leader assured us the American consumer wouldn't be paying for his Big Beautiful Tariffs.

Just had some cabinetry put in with electrical work. Between the original estimate in Jan and when we finalized it in May, the price went up about 10-15%, and the contractor told us it was because of tariffs.

Your ad doesnt show most of those prices - in fact, your cherries are $4.99 in the ad.

If you look at gas prices in Sterling, IL (where the Kroger is), its going for about $3.30.

I will say, though, even if those prices were real, its still not worth it to live in Sterling.

😂😂😂

What milk size for $1.29? 16oz?

😂😂😂

My kid drinks that as a beverage with a snack. We go through 2 gallons/week of milk over here.

Does anyone actually think buying a 16oz bottle of milk constitutes “grocery shopping”?

All imported?

no idea

but this "grocery prices will soar !! " lie that liberal media told is just that - lies

imported things might go up ... I don't have to buy them though

I used to drink milk a lot - when I stopped (for no particular reason) now .... I can hardly stand to drink it anymore. farm fresh is different

No screen shot of the receipt?

you literally want me to give you receipts? wow

but for you in the coming day's I'll save my receipts and post em for you. K ? I savvy shop .... I pay full price for a few things but other than that, I'm still frugal even though I don't have to be.

this week, I don't have to buy $10.99 bacon or $10.99 coffee beans or $3.99 strawberries .... I'll buy something else and wait. See what I mean ? and when some things go up enough I stop buying

I grew up in poverty Hamish ..... I can live on beans and cornbread and fried taters

I’m going to call straight up bullshit on that.

I’ve never seen 1/2 gallon of milk go on sale for the price of a pint.

you'd be found to be lying then

Most grocery prices won't soar due to the tariffs. They'll soar when we see the inflationary effects from the tariffs. Right now, we're in the calm before the storm on that front. Give it a few months.

I was hoping we'd make more than a few trade deals by now (do we really even have one trade deal that was finalized?). That we haven't is very troubling. It means the forecasts for inflation that were worst-case scenarios are now extremely likely.

Its would be funny, if it wasn't so pathetic. Watching trumpies trying desperately to believe China pays for our tariffs on Chinese goods.
Whats even more disturbing is, I'm sure even after they, personally, start to notice prices rising. They will most assuredly blame it on something other than donalds big beautiful tariffs.
