Trump says Aug 1 tariff deadline will not be extended - https://www.reuters.com/business/trump-says-aug-1-tariff-deadline-will-not-be-extended-2025-07-30/

How it’s going:

I have just concluded a telephone conversation with the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, which was very successful in that, more and more, we are getting to know and understand each other. The complexities of a Deal with Mexico are somewhat different than other Nations because of both the problems, and assets, of the Border. We have agreed to extend, for a 90 Day period, the exact same Deal as we had for the last short period of time, namely, that Mexico will continue to pay a 25% Fentanyl Tariff, 25% Tariff on Cars, and 50% Tariff on Steel, Aluminum, and Copper. Additionally, Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate its Non Tariff Trade Barriers, of which there were many. We will be talking to Mexico over the next 90 Days with the goal of signing a Trade Deal somewhere within the 90 Day period of time, or longer. Present at the meeting were Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, United States Trade Representative and Ambassador Jamieson Greer, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, and United States Homeland Security Advisor, Stephen Miller. There will be continued cooperation on the Border as it relates to all aspects of Security, including Drugs, Drug Distribution, and Illegal Immigration into the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Still lying.

"Mexico will continue to pay a 25% Fentanyl Tariff, 25% Tariff on Cars, and 50% Tariff on Steel, Aluminum, and Copper."

And the magatry, no doubt, are still gobbling his lies.
How bloody stupid can people be? This topic has been discussed up, down and sideways for months and Trump is still telling his cult that Mexico pays the tariffs he imposed.
It's absolutely amazing.

Trump is a demagogue and a bluffer and a con man. He operates like a low rent mafia don. So fentanyl can still come into the country but US dealers and users have to pay 25% more. WTF is a fentanyl tariff?

And when is the final, final, I’m not kidding this time absolute deadline of all deadlines that won’t ever be extended for any exceptions coming? 90 days, or longer? Stay tuned. Thank you for your cooperation.

TACO is just a negotiation strategy. It works when your opponent has less time and resources to wait and drag it out. America has far more leverage than Mexico. Trump is just trying to get a good deal for America. It's the art of the deal!

one of the stupidest things I've seen - "taco"

Trump is winning over and over for the American people and the left just continues to hate

Not sure this is a TACO since we are still having to pay 25% on most goods and 50% on steel, aluminum, and copper. We're just as ****ed today as yesterday.

How is paying billions upon billions in tariffs “winning”? American businesses and consumers are paying the tariffs.

Have you seen what impact that is having on American businesses?

You have such confidence in a historically shitty businessman.

Trump wouldn't extend the deadline if he didn't see progress.

So you buy the bs about Mexico paying tariffs?

So tell me, does the Mexican write a check or do they just bring bags of cash?
