I quit reading at "Putin blinked".
Obama has lost all credibility in the region. No one is scared of him any more.
What the Libs are saying this was Obama's policy all along ??
LOL !!!!!
More Con delusions... close their little Con eyes and put their hands over their ears singing 'nanny nanny boo boo, I can't hear you!'
Cons were convinced Putin would fight to defend Syria, that WWIII was just a breath away. Now look Putin found a hatch to bail out on this mess. Assad went from bluff and buster to 'welcoming' the chance to be stripped of an effective weapon.
Unlike Neo-cons and bully BushII- Obama doesn't want fear... respect for what he could do is enough to strip Syria of it's chemical weapons. But please do continue to spin the Con delusions, they are amusing and quite a window into the disfunctional mindset of the modern conservative....eace
So not going to War is somehow bad now??? Obama looks weak now because he did not bomb a country. This county is getting sick and twisted. Did any of the neo-cons ever think that it was a good cop/ bad cop situation? Putin does not have the military power to strike, but the US does. Wow it not about looking like a hero it the best possible solution to a bad situation.

So let's see.
Kerry chews on his foot and has to have said foot extracted from mouth after the fact. Putin seizes on Kerry's leather lunch and places an order from Kerry's menu. President Obama realizes the frying pan is getting almost impossible to reside in, so he gladly changes his fireside chat with the nation so he can find out how Putin wants his steak cooked.
And the spin is Obama is getting respect for what he could do to such a degree it's resulting in Syria being stipped of it's chemical weapons stock?
Now that is Olympic level finals match delusion...

:agree: What exactly did BHO do to resolve this mess, other than agreeing with Putin's handling of it? Remember, BHO was getting ready to bomb Syria! Instead, why didn't he come up with the idea of allowing the international community to take possession of Syria's chemical weapons? I may have missed something, but... :wow:

.....you may have missed something, but.....you didn't.
I'm a bit baffled by Kerry and his offhand comment that became the genesis for the President's possible out.
First, how does one in such an important position, speaking about such an important issue, throw out what was suggested was a sarcastic comment?
I've been in hundreds of meetings where the future of the world isn't at stake, and I've been very aware of every word I've spoken.
I don't know, but it seems to me it's reasonable to be a little concerned about the leadership being shown on this issue.
I think Obama deserves some respect on this. He doesnt look weak in my eye. What would be weak is attacking a country that never did anything to us (Iraq??), lying to the American people about a country that is ready to attack the US (IRAQ). That is what is weak so if your going to nit pick how it is done go ahead. But a majority of Americans have seen "weak'
The only suggestion I can come up with is there may be another country that's going to be invaded that we don't know about yet, and they are laying the groundwork for that. Other than that possibility, who knows?

So it's now looking like Russia doesn't want a binding UN resolution on Syrian WMDs as part of the deal... so I guess the deal is not likely happen.
But then I think Russia will have gotten exactly what they wanted out of the political maneuver anyway. Putin ends up looking like a peace maker, Obama will be seen by the world as refusing an option for peace, and Assad will be all but untouchable for the remainder of the Obama presidency at least since there is not a chance Obama will try this again.
The House and Senate vote is moot. Obama's only competency as president is in local politics, and he knows what an attack on Syria would do to his legacy at this point.
Oh I see.Yeah weak.....like Obama and his team Trying to State that Syria is a Threat to our National Security. and looking to tie it in anyway they can. When the true reality is.....Syria isn't a threat to our National Security at all. Kind alike going and attacking Syria with some Strikes.....huh?
So yeah.....I can understand your confusion over what is weak in argument while dealing with the present.
Greetings, greengirl. :2wave:
I don't understand why you believe Bush was "weak" on Iraq, yet BHO did the same thing in Libya, and is contemplating doing the exact same thing in Syria, and yet he is not weak, using your criteria. Where do you see a difference?
Yeah man, cooperating with other countries to avoid a war is weakness.
CNN said:Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has told France that its own draft resolution holding the Syrian government responsible for the use of chemical weapons is "unacceptable."
Syrian crisis: Keeping up with key developments - CNN.com
CNN said:Russian President Vladimir Putin said the United States and its allies should "pledge to renounce the use of force" as world powers work to deal with the Syrian chemical weapons issue. "It is difficult to make any country -- Syria or any other country in the world -- to unilaterally disarm if there is military action against it under consideration," he told Russian TV on Tuesday.
Niether was Iraq so why the griping now. Rightwingers couldnt wait to poot boots in that country? So wht you are basiccally saying is it was okay because our guy was had an R in front of his name. The probel here is it was actually done in one case.
The reason is pretty simple Bush lied put boots on the ground killed service men and woman, lied to everyone!! Pretty easy to compare the two don't you think.
Certainly not, but this time it was... the way it was handled for the past 2 weeks was embarrassing. But it isn't over yet.... as they hammer out the deal "conditions" will now come into play. I just saw on CNN that Russia's draft proposal will include:
I'm still hopeful the deal goes through.
Oh, so you think that Assad, or Russia actually want the dismantling of Syria's WMD program? How naive can you be?
