I feel sympathy towards the leader of North Korea because it must have been very difficult for him to lose his father at a young age. He was only 27 when his father passed away. While grieving, he had to take over an entire country which is not an easy thing to do.

I also empathize with him because you have people in the United States and other countries that make vicious and personal attacks against him without actually knowing him. He's still a human, and deserves respect. I doubt he had much of a childhood and I wouldn't be surprised if his upbringing was strict.

It seems very easy to attack Kim Jong Un and North Korea, but let's remember this fact: North Korea has never attacked the United States. The United States has dropped chemical weapons on North Korea, killing millions of Koreans. This again is a fact.

Now Kim Jong Un wasn't even alive during the Korean War, he inherited the throne however I do believe he is a rational person. He understands the history of U.S's aggression and is simply defending the interest of his country. It doesn't sound like North Korea actually wants to expand, they just want to survive.

Luckily, I think Trump understands this. Rex Tillerson has already stated he is willing to negotiate with them. In the past, former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright game his father a signed basketball by Michael Jordan. What we do know is that Kim Jong Un loves basketball. He is good friends with Dennis Rodman and Trump is also good friends with Rodman.

Perhaps we can send Michael Jordan, Rodman and other professional basketball players as ambassadors to ease the tension. If we can send Justin Bieber, kanye West and other Americans that might relate to the struggles Kim Jong Un has gone through, this might help. Perhaps a dinner or a charity basketball game.

Out of the box diplomacy maybe our best solution.

I agree with almost nothing you just said, and I will defend your right to say it to the hilt.

That's out of the box thinking, alright. lol

Interesting, maybe Trump could make Dennis Rodman the Ambassador to N. Korea. And why not...nothing else seems to have worked?

Trump would sure love that, especially if it worked.

Someone had to.

So you often sympathize with people who assassinate their sibling and continue policies of keeping children in concentration camps because their grandparents weren't loyal enough to the party?

I feel no more sympathy for this cowardly little degenerate than I feel for a roach. Step on him quick, and be done with it.

I dont like him, but if we keep pushing for war a lot of people are going to end up dead, so its better to leave him alone.

How many times does the fat little tyrant get away with threatening his world neighbors every time his "kimpshi" is a little overcooked?

They think as soon as they get a good missile and put a nuke on it they are untouchable.

The Kim dynasty has made many strange claims that in my opinion no sane person would ever claim.

According to the latest syllabus taught in various North Korean schools, Kim Jong-un started driving at the age of 3 and is a skilled composer and musician.

According to the book "Kim Jong-un's Revolutionary Activities," the Korean leader raced the chief executive of a foreign yacht company and overcame great odds to clinch the race....at just 9 years old.

According to legend, and Kim Jong-il’s official biography, he was born in a secret military cabin high on Mount Paektu in 1942. His birth was prophesied by a swallow, and was signalled by a double rainbow over the mountain and a new star in the sky.

According to official records in Pyongyang, Kim Jong-il started walking when he was 3 weeks old and could talk at 8 weeks.

During his stint at Kim Il-Sung University, Kim Jong-il authored a staggering 1,500 books in less than three years and also composed six full operas. The operas, according to his biography, were better than any in the history of music.

And this is just a sampling of the things that the Kim dynsaty claims. He came from bat[smurf] crazy, and he himself continues to be bat[smurf] crazy.

He's a complete whack job in charge of a military and a nuclear program and this concerns me.

I hesitate to comment on such a thread because I fear for my life from the Korean Dictator if I should say something and we could do a lot of damage to him here. Just think, I as an American need to fear for my life when I comment on a foreign leader.

Feeling sorry for him is unproductive, your OP is weak and pathetic, compassion is good, sympathy bad.

I think when the Korean Leader had his brother assassinated in sovereign Nation he overstepped his bounds and sounded his death knell. This should be the position of our leaders and press as we move forward.

Yes North Korea, a place to escape from due to the horrific conditions the people live under.

No sympathy for this madman from me. He should be dispatched.

This young girl speaks on behalf of her people: only one channel on TV, no internet, no food

I wonder if Trump really feels sympathy for poor little Kim or if he is trying to get people to feel sympathy for himself, a poor little rich kid who inherited a position he was not ready for.

That was the right approach and the one we have followed since the end of the Korean war. What has changed is the country's progress toward arming an ICBM that can carry a nuclear warhead. Add to that Kim's statements about his desire to use such a thing against the U.S. and U.S. allies. It may be saber rattling and never happen but the consequences are now so terrible that what we have been doing may not be enough. Let's hope China can and will have a positive effect on the situation.

His position has nothing to do with his being ready, it has to do with the ****** up Reprobate ideology that is fortunately stalled let's pray, it stays this way, "Dear Lord Jesus, please see that those Reprobates stay confounded and that they get nothing passed and that they put the guts back into Obamacare and don't cut revenue, am I asking for a miracle? Ok, we must ask for some miracle for the Reprobates too, Lord, that Trump balances the Budget and pays back the debt and funds the unfunded liabilities and makes Government independently wealthy. Amen."

From what I have learned about NK, Baby Kim is more like grandpa than daddy. He's reasonably well spoken, gets out among the people, and has a vision for a better NK future.

That being said, his power base still depends on him suppressing freedom. And, that's never good.

Why do you think it is hard for an adult of 27 years old to lose his father?

What does this thread have to do with Trump and what position did he inherit?
