Another one bites the dust...over Trump's tariffs.

This is going to happen more and more as the tariffs stay in effect. Sometimes alternate sources are not available, and manufacturing goods such as these in the US is a non-starter.

Since 2009, Swedish brand Polarn O. Pyret has sold kid-size outerwear to a loyal fan base of outdoorsy American
parents. Now, citing tariffs, the company is pulling out of the U.S.
Jennifer Athanason, owner of the brand’s U.S. franchise, said she and the Swedish company decided together to
close Polarn O. Pyret USA and halt all U.S. sales by the end of the year. After several years of strong sales fueled by
pandemic-era interest in outdoor activities, Athanason said, her company has taken a hit this year from tariffs and
a weaker U.S. dollar, making it more costly to purchase inventory from the Swedish parent company.
Polarn O. Pyret manufactures most of its outerwear in China. Because the items originate in China, Athanason said,
they are subject to the U.S. tariff rate on Chinese goods. The U.S. business received its last shipment in April and
won’t import any more inventory, Athanason said.
