Supreme Court Rejects bid to add Citizenship Question to 2020 Census

Illegal will vote! End of fair elections. And you guys were afraid of Russians!

Ugh, look at this nonsense. Are you kidding?

If Trump and his racist menagerie clown car admin had not been caught lying about their intentions perhaps the SCOTUS would have ruled differently.

This is the correct ruling given the context.

Voting is not at issue here....an utterly irrelevant response.

I think it's a fair decision also.

Why? You don’t think a country has a right to know who is here illegally? Why would democrats want to hide it? They are supposedly scared to death of Russians!

Read the reference. This was totally political

Apparently you're unaware of what the Census does, which is count people, hopefully all of the people in the U.S. at that time. That count also includes a lot of demographic data that's useful for all kinds of research/business/government purposes, but the primary purpose is that count.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with voting.

Did not answer my question!

You think you are going to know how many illegals are here by asking them that?

Now that is hilarious

Boy. You really have no idea what you are talking about on this, do you?
It is startling how passionate you become, even more so when you are out of your league in terms of the discussion. Congrats on that, I guess.
THE most conservative court in decades didn't buy the Trump Admin's argument and yet here you are all misplaced fear, doom and gloom.

In the first place, the Census Dept sends out OTHER surveys that include the citizenship question. Has no place on the actual Census form other than as a means of promoting an undercount of the total number of souls in various districts.

In the second place, the question had nothing to do with voting. Here, let me ask a response question, how does the question relate to citizens voting. Oh I know, you found those 3 million alien voters Trump has been yammering about since 2016. Ah-huh. Sure you did.

Let me ask if you’ve heard of counties who have had several thousand more votes than citizens?

I just love good news in the morning. Makes my coffee taste better.

:coffeepap

That's one less census question that I'll have to refuse to answer, which was what I planned to do. The census is supposed to be a head count. If a question like that were to remain, millions of people would shy away from the whole thing and we would end up with gross innaccuracies in our national demographics, which would be a disservice to us all.

If they did, they would have done much better than Trump's blue ribbon counsel that actually looked into it and disappeared into the big nothing burger in the sky.

The problem of course is someone here illegally won't fill out the census, or if they do has a powerful incentive to lie, since those forms are tied to named at specific addresses, and people (understandably) don't trust the Trump administration to keep the information confidential despite laws requiring it.

The Census estimated adding the question would undercount roughly 6.5 million people, which is of course the point, an intended feature, of adding the question to a process that's main job is to count people.

How will they vote if they can't register? You've swallowed the fearmongering kool-aid. Undocumented people cannot register to vote in national elections, only in some localities where it is allowed, and only on local issues that affect them directly, such as school issues or local taxation issues.

The right really needs to get over their terror of immigrants.

So democrats want to hide illegals. Open borders for all.

Yea I have...whats your point? "Vote early and vote often" has been around long before the Unauthorized Alien and Unauthorized Immigrant issue has been around.

If somebody really wants to flesh out what the vote v county rolls issue is about, I am all ears. Until then.....?????
