I use the stuff from my MM dispensary. I may have used pot enough in my life to cause tolerance. So I sprinkle a little concentrate on top of a bowl so I get an extra kick.

I've started using a CPAP machine & to fall asleep I take just one toke. My room has a night light so it's not dark. So last night I smoked & got in bed. Looking up at the ceiling I could see a bright blue matrix of squares. And then it was red. I was seeing things that weren't there. IOW, I was hallucinating because of commercial THC. THC is usually classed as a euphoriant & not as a hallucinogen.

Cannabis is a plant. It's unclear what the additives are.

Sounds like it has something else in it.

Eh, ingest enough and you can get mild hallucinatory-adjacent effects. ie, vague "patterns" of shapes or matrixes of dots across your field of vision when in a dark room, ie, like what you see against the black when you close your eyes.

Nothing remotely close to what you get with shrooms, LSD, etc.

I encountered some of the stronger stuff about ten years ago. It was too much. I had to sit around for about an hour waiting to be normally high. I prefer the weaker stuff, though I almost never partake anymore.

I disagree. When I first started using it heavily, I hallucinated about front-door lights for a long time. And that was after smoking 70s ditch-weed.

Concentrates that are near 100% THC are potent. High end pot strains is 20%-30% range. Just like eating it can give a different affect and last longer than smoking

I mean....I do sorta recall one night early on when I wondered if something was in the stuff (blunt at frat party near very beginning of college, which is when I became a more accomplished smoker). The light pattern I described was quite noticeable. But still... nothing like proper hallucinogens. Sort of overlayed, not part of things.

Now? If I have edibles throughout the night and end up taking >75mg total, I do get a few hallucinatory-adjacent effects. Much easier to see something out of the corner of my eye that's a distortion of what's actually there, and other little effects that I cannot really describe. All are different from what I'd call "proper" hallucinations I've experienced, and decades ago I was experienced.

I guess that means I still am. Just hopelessly out of practice. But maybe one day MA will legalize

I has mild effects from the (oddly) lsd strain. Lou Diamond Phillips' head look like a golf ball on a tee for a minute. But that's the only time.

THC affects different people differently. I once scored a big bud from a Black band that was playing at a hotel. After I smoked it I was overcome with uncontrollable laughing fits. My date had to drive us in my company car back to the motel & she was stoned too. An experience you don't forget. But a top medicinal chemistry who had worked on THC analogs at Pfizer told me that besides being a euphoriant upper, in some people like terminal cancer patients it can be a dysphoriant downer.

The same pot a few days later had nowhere near the same reaction. So external elements must play a big role in how you react to THC.

Absolutely, but I find it more my own mindset that affects it. That's why I will usually try a strain a second time if I don't like it the first time. Of course then you already have a mind set that you aren't going to like it because of the first experience, so that doesn't always work, lol.

BTW, I see shit like that nearly everyday. They are called a partial seizure.
The last thing I would want is to see more by using a drug.

It's hell. Truely horrible.

Peace

I smoked some weed with neighbors not too long ago. It was the first time I had smoked in almost 30 years. It rendered me unconscious and I fell and almost broke my leg on their coffee table. And this was what they claimed was their "regular daytime smoking weed" The shit they sell now is STRONG.

For me, the world went sideways. I went back to my tent (I was camping) and waited. My goal was to listen to music and walk around the woods taking pictures. One hit of that was too much. I did get my walk in the woods, but it took a while.

You're very lucky that you didn't seriously injure or kill yourself. Such a jaunt is the result of THC intoxication. Everyone reacts differently & some do stupid things.

I was on foot. I sat in my tent until I was feeling more normal.

Reminds me of a time a college friend stopped by with a friend of his we didn't know. College friend insists the other guy smokes weed, don't worry. Ok, I get out my bong, pack it up, and we pass it around.

Basically, he went and sat in our bathroom for two hours. Then he was ok. I know what he was dealing with. Same thing happened in law school, since I'd pretty much entirely stopped smoking (intent being only for the duration of law school). But one time, my then-GF/now-wife had access to a great batch of blueberry so, fine, I have to have some. Brought some to poker night and a couple other students who still smoked.

I.... had to go sit in their bathroom for half an hour. The anxiety reaction came be quite unpleasant, leaving you wondering whether you're going to send yourself into an anxiety loop that knocks you out or gives you a heart attack.

It all comes down to amount you ingest, speed you ingest, and your current usage patterns. Like just about any other drug... (ie, opiate addicts OD'ing after having been off it for a while from a previously tolerable dose)

I find it laughable that there are people who actually admit to being dope smokers and then act like other people don't think them to be really stupid.

Pot smoking is something some dumb teenager tries a few times before they figure out that being an adult means not being a dope head.

And this is the stuff our Congress, led by democrats wants to legalize for fun.

Marijuana has established medical uses, which is why they call it Medical.

I first dropped LSD the night of the moon landing 1969 ( never did see" little green men") - but lots of patterns
and some things looked like a bluish glow. I was at a "moon landing party" and some of the black light posters got me hypnotized
I've smoked all kinds of weed/hashish -including dispensary- but never got any hallucinations
