Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Actually they do count on the first ballot according to the rules---and have since 1984 .
Are you saying they are bound to their candidate until the first vote?

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Here is what I am looking at - Record turnouts for Republicans but not for Democrats. While some Republicans will most likely stay home after Trump is nominated, the turnout numbers, IMHO, spell trouble for the Democrats. While Dems are notorious for not turning out in non-presidential years, the turnout this year has to have Dem leaders worried. While I have maintained that Hillary would be the next president because of the clown car of Republicans running, it seems that one of those clowns could very well upend the Hillary clown, and it most likely would be Trump. And now we know why the Republicans are blocking Obama's nomination for the Supreme Court. They smell blood, and an opportunity to put one of their own on the bench instead of one that would be the opposite of Scalia, thus keeping SCOTUS in Conservative hands. But the big question is Donald Trump himself. Who would he appoint? Nobody knows.

So, do I vote for the Hillary clown or the Trump clown? My answer is neither. I'm voing for Gary Johnson again. I have no intention whatsoever of joining the circus.

The assumption from a lot of the R's is that Trump is going to show up to Washington a rube like Carter, that he can be successfully managed.

They have learned nothing yet.

The only person that could successfully tame the Donald would be Jesse Ventura.

I'm on the fence about Trump, more often than not. And I'm willing to bet a Trump presidency would be an utter disaster without Jesse Ventura as his running-mate.

Really, any combination of an anti-establishment/protest Presidency without some form of combination of Bernie, Trump and Ventura will likely end in disaster.

We're going to need a teamwork and combination of multiple charismatic anti-Establishment statesmen to effectively coordinate an organized counterattack against TPTB.

They've been absolutely mollywhopping us since the Lincoln assassination.

I do not see Trump in that manner at all.

If anything, he's used to buying & owning these guys.

He's going to come in like he owns the place!

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Do you think that's Trump's influence (voting for him or against him)?

Absolutely that's Trump's influence.
He's the anti-establishment candidate who these voters feel have the best chance at winning in the primaries.

Open primaries have helped Trump.
Savvy American voters switching parties in closed states have helped Trump.
However, I think independents actually choosing a party instead of not voting have really helped Trump.

Heck, Trump could pull off your Oregon in the general, which has trended less Blue in recent years.
He's completely redefined the Electoral College map being strong in the Northeast and Eastern seaboard.

MSNBC just went through several other states as to the decreased DEM turnout from 2008.
While spinning that it was because of the strong turnout for the Obama/Clinton race--which is true.
And there is a strong GOP race--compared to Clinton/Sanders .

They count on the first ballot if they so choose.
I don't see them switching this time around as in 2008.

However, they are not bound by the commitments they have already made, as we saw in 2008.
Stay tuned .

Do you remember that scene in West Wing during the time that Zoe was kidnapped and the speaker takes the chair?

"You are relieved"

Completely different situation, but Trump is likewise going to make it clear on minute one that he is now the boss.

Trump will redefine and add to the GOP map in the same way Obama did in '08. Hell, he's even claiming he's going to put NY in play!

No idea if he can do it, but he is the hometown boy!

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

How do you like the 20% threshold in the GOP rules ? :lamo

At least the GOP isn't appointing their candidate.

Fair enough.

I was just a bit confused by your earlier statement.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Instead, the GOP is trying to use legal rules to sabotage your trump.

At least the GOP isn't appointing their candidate.

DEMs are having a spirited, professional race for their nomination.
Even Bernie's supporters don't believe HRC is being appointed.
They know where you're coming from, as a trump supporter.

Nixon/Atwater won't work this election .

Sorry about that--the whole process is confusing--even when one does his best.
Super-delegates are confusing and I wish I could make them go away.
They should be divided up the way the rest of the delegates are or just thrown out .

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

According to number crunching by @LACaldwellDC there has been record GOP turnout in every state so far except VT.

Just as the D's act unconcerned that they have been consistantly loosing power in the states to the R's, they want us to believe that this does not matter.

It does.

A lot.

No problem, my friend.

No problem at all.

Have a good evening!

Thus, morally and ideologically (if not necessarily literally) they don't count for ****.

If the democrats fail to get their turnout, it's their own fault. The DNC leadership is so scared of Bernie Sanders that they forewent all major voter registration drive efforts because they knew all the young voters would go to Bernie and thereby further threaten Hillary's coronation. Everyone can see their blatant propping, but they're actually having to push the envelope really far towards a disastrous attempt at a rigged election because they're goddamn terrified of Sanders.

They have reason to be, and not just for the fact that he's shattering Obama's fundraising records and now outstripping Hillary's back to back wall street fundraisers. Check the polls for every state after today. 9/10 of them will go to Bernie. California alone is going to crush Clinton.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has literally been using the Democratic Party resources as her own sabotage machine against Bernie Sanders and she's been doing it from the start of the electio. To proclaim that the Dems are have a professional race is a laughable statement.

Neither party really is.
It is basically We The People vs The Establishment at this point.

To proclaim that you're objective towards DEMs as a trump supporter is far more laughable .

Yeah, that's crap. The DNC is pulling just about every dirty trick it can to give the nomination to Hillary. Plenty of Bernie supporters see that pretty clearly; if they "don't believe HRC is being appointed," it's because they believe she ultimately won't be.

I don't know who's worse, certain delusional Sanders supporters or Nixon/Atwater/Rove trump supporters.
Try acting a little more dignified like the man you support .

I don't need to, I'm not running for President. Nor do I care about what you think of me.

I stopped here after you told me I was full of crap in the post of mine you quoted.
When you start a fight on DP, you don't get the first and last word.

DEMs realize they still have a turn-out problem with their party with people like you.
Were you an all-or-nothing Sanders voter who didn't bother to vote in the last two mid-terms, giving us the current GOPs.

Feel free not to respond if you don't like the way I respond to your drive-by hit posts .
