Good lord this is stupid. Masks do work. Not 100%. But much better than nothing. The study was only done on healthcare professionals. And they didn't do a test group without masks because healthcare professionals are high risk. Masking has proven to help prevent transmission of diseases for centuries.

Seems some supporting the OP have not read the linked article. As pointed out the article was about comparing surgical masks to N95 mask when it comes to protection from covid.

Misinformation of findings is strong with some.

Mostly true, but a fitted N95 mask does a pretty good job at protecting the wearer too. When you get fitted for these masks, as I have, they make sure its a tight enough fit so that you cannot smell a fragrance sprayed at you by the technician. I assume that fragrance has molecules small enough to be comparable to virions. Other masks don't do a good job at protecting the wearer, you are right.
