May 21 (Bloomberg) -- Statoil ASA partially evacuated platform C at the Gullfaks field in the North Sea after pressure in a well destabilized, shutting production at the facility and the nearby Tordis field.
“There is a stable situation at the platform,” Gisle Johanson, a company spokesman, said by phone today. “We have an unstable pressure situation in this well. There’s no leak, no blowout and no injuries.”
It is a state owned company.. people could actually be voted out of office for screwing up!
Was this an identical situation except for the way the two crews treated it? If not, then I don't see why it stands to reason that BP should learn anything from this.
Good idea. I think the American people need to vote BP out of the Gulf.
You are right. This is not an identical situation. Their blowout preventers worked.

The government running drilling operations in the GOM? That's a laugh riot!
Sorry, but I'll take my chances with the private sector.

Yea rather have a private company stock pile billions for its few stockholders than have a state company stock pile hundreds of billions for the future of the country. You do know that Norway has the second largest sovereign fund in the world right? Unlike private companies, they do not spend billions on bonuses for failure, or rob the country of hundreds of billions in bailouts. I did heard that they ordered pizza on the companies dime once in a while.. oh the scandal!
We did take chances with your vaunted, so efficiently run, ever so highly skilled, "private sector." In return, your "experts" have given us the largest ecological disaster in the history of this Nation, that will destroy untold amounts of our coastline for decades, if not forever.
Brilliant choices you make.
