So...pretty much any new federal employee is a bad thing?

They were saying today on the Radio that the Chefs will recieve a Jacket with Real Gold lettering. I would think a small select group of individuals to feed Diplomats and Politicians is a bit over the top. Don't you think?
I mean this is not like the Peace Corp where there are hundreds affected and to help in assitance of other people in other countries. Hows that extravagance looking to all those unemployed people?
*looks at national debt*
*looks at current projected deficit*
A-yup.

A-yup.
So...we should probably stop all military recruiting...because those are new federal employees.
How do you correlate the recruitment of people for the Defense of the country as opposed to spending money for the Top Chefs in the Country to come and participate in the The Nothing Exceeds like Excess Program? What Regular Middle Class Cooks not good enough.....huh?
What happened to the part about down-sizing the SOS Dept?
WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton believes in the power of food. Over more than three years as America's top diplomat, she has increasingly used cuisine as a tool to bring people together.
Now Clinton is enlisting top-rated chefs from across the nation to join an effort to forge cultural exchanges over the dining table worldwide.
On Friday, more than 80 chefs are being inducted into the first American Chef Corps. These food experts could help the State Department prepare meals for visiting dignitaries, travel to U.S. embassies abroad for educational programs with foreign audiences or host culinary experts from around the world in their U.S. kitchens.
This month, chefs and food experts from 25 countries are visiting Washington, New York, San Francisco, the Midwest and New Orleans to learn about U.S. food culture in a State Department program.
The new Diplomatic Culinary Partnership is part of Clinton's "smart power" philosophy of using "every diplomatic tool at our disposal," said U.S. Chief of Protocol Capricia Penavic Marshall, in a written response to questions from The Associated Press.....snip~

Here we have Hillary Dillary Tock doesnt seem to know which is the way of that money clock. She has created this Chef Corp for the US Government because she believes Food is the way to bring people together. Another program created that will also send these Chefs overseas to cook for Diplomats.
Do you think they can keep on explaining away the hiring of More Fed Employees when at this time we need to be watching the checkbook? But it is okay to cut defense.....Right? Even tho Clinton and Panetta say that it would be a Threat to the National Security of the US.
Nothing put forth thru Congress either. Lets just add these Famous Chefs across the country to come and cook for our Aristocrat azzes.

This sounds more like you are opposed to diplomatic spending while appeased with defense spending. If you don't understand the need for diplomacy then no expenditure in diplomacy will make much sense to you.
And I don't know of many "middle class" cooks who can meet the demands that the state department is putting upon these individuals. They aren't cooking steak and potatoes.
It gives me pause to think about this. No one can deny the camaraderie that comes from eating at the same table. Over time, it might give the enemy a face...on both sides of the table.
I mean, think of Thanksgiving dinner at your house...pulling all those factions together to break bread...Uncle Harry, you know, the crazy one who talks like a complete ****head starting ten minutes after he comes in the door. And your cousin...the one on her third husband who's been visited by CPS three times in the last year; filed two restraining orders on her old man, and spends the afternoon telling anyone who'll listen what a terrific guy he is. While he sits at the dinner table flossing.
I could see getting the Iranis and Israelis together every Friday night for a fish fry. You?
Metal detectors, anyone?
I'm no fan of Hillary, but I have to admit this isn't the worst diplomatic idea I've ever heard. People like good food, and I know a good meal puts ME in a better and more receptive mood.
I wouldn't expect world peace to break out anytime soon, but what the heck its not the worst idea.

Now why wouldnt I be opposed to Diplomatic spending.
Ever work in a restaurant that has a Top Chef? Ever notice those Middle class cooks that do most of the cooking?
Don't you think we should be closing embassies across the Globe? Any reason why we cannot regionalize with Embassies for Diplomatic Negotiations?
Why does the Democrats have a need to make sure they Cater to Television's Finiest with their Cooking Shows?
Also when a Country pulls it people out and closes it's Embassies. Removes it's Ambassador. Do you think you can get them to come back and sit down and eat dinner?
Meh...you are entitled to your opinion.
I think you are mixing up Sous chefs with "middle class" chefs.
So...you are an expert on diplomatic relations now?
I dunno what you are talking about but it sounds strange and thoughtlessly partisan.
Yes.
