Some feedback

hey I just tried it. It does work!

I'm a debate junkie and have been arguing politics since the early '90s. I've experienced most types of internet discussion platforms: irc, bbs, usenet, chat rooms, 4chan, etc, Ultimately, the goal is to get your points across, and if you compare, say, a political sub on reddit to this place, it's no contest. Forget the fact that reddit mods are mentally regarded left wing a holes. I'm just talking about how the software works. From the beginning, reddit has always been slow, plagued by spam and bots, and the search functionality is terrible. It just can't compare to this site.

Here, creating posts with quoted text, embedded links, images, and even videos is fast, easy, and everything just works. If you don't appreciate that, it's probably because you're spoiled by it.

I'd like to say that the forum software here works excellent. It's fast and intuitive, and I love that feature where a quote/reply button pops up when you highlight some text.
What am I doing wrong? When I highlight a little text (on a desktop), nothing happens.

It seems to work for me only as long as I haven’t already chosen the reply button, like if I went to one of the posts here and highlighted some of the text, it would give me the option but if I’ve already hit reply, it won’t do it (which makes sense). Also it doesn’t seem to work for text that’s within a quote.
