Solution to Iraq war (1 Viewer)

Regaurdless of why the US is there, I was curious as to others opinions of solutions to the current problem.

Some options that are talked about frequently are:

Stay the course... keep doing what we are doing

Leave... pullout our troups now

Leave... a phased pull out

Split the country into 3 parts

It is my opinion no matter long we are in Iraq, the country will fall after we leave. Another Vietnam . All the lives lost and for what? Protecting my freedom a half a world away? NO. b/c there are terriorst right here in our own land. Then I hear the Bush wants to stay there untill 2010!!!! Lets get a life and let them people live theres! Geeshhhhhhh!:roll:

Option #4 will eventually be the solution, as it was in Eastern Europe in the
90's, but not until option #3 is begun.

Bush just wants to stay there until he is out of office so he can pass the buck on the next president. He is too arrogant and prideful to every admit this was a mistake.

Anywhere America's troops are deployed they will be there for a long time. We are still in Germany, Japan, S Korea, and the Balkans. If we left S Korea or the Balkans they would immediately be at war again. So its not just Iraq with that problem. Leaving would be a death sentence to any Iraqi who helped us or took part in the post Sadam government.

I dont know the solution but abandoning the people after we caused the current situation they are in is not it. Besides if we just left who would swoop in to take our spot? Iran or Syria ... and then we'd be even worse off.

As bad as Iraq is now atleast we arnt getting attacked at home any more.
