New crime prediction software being rolled out in the nation's capital should reduce not only the murder rate, but the rate of many other crimes as well.
Developed by Richard Berk, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, the software is already used in Baltimore and Philadelphia to predict which individuals on probation or parole are most likely to murder and to be murdered.
I came across this on another website and someone who commented mentioned Minority Report.
'Can't help thinking how useful this technology would be to some world leaders and political parties as a tool for quelling political opposition or any number of other possible applications.
We can teleport atoms, regrow tissue, reprogram DNA, clone whatever we want, along with thousands of other wonderful things and now we can 'read minds'. At this rate, science fiction will soon be a distant memory.
